Even if SSR hadn’t died, even if Mahesh Bhatt hadn’t been utterly insensitive about SSR, even if there wasn’t any Covid19 pandemic and Sadak2 would have gotten a full fledged theater release- it would have still flopped and the trailer would still have lakhs of dislike.

Yes it does coz for every issue and every question that is raised on the functioning of the industry, it comes back, you the audience are to blame.

Now when the audience is taking action, refusing to watch until.sysyem changes. They smartly play the sympathy and victim card.

Basically if anyone from the industry raises an issue, they are either Attention Seekers, looking for fame, personal vendetta etc .

If the audience raises it, sympathy card.

If someone questions nepotism , audience are to blame.

Basically, whichever side we the audience take, they have to win.

Mahesh Bhatt deserves it he has been spreading filth about Sushant

Alia is not a bad person but she is highly overrated and unnecessarily hyped by her Karan Johar and the industry. She is treated like an Oscar winner by other Bollywood actors and directors however, there is room for improvement

@bold Hmm, that makes sense but, pardon my ignorance (that's probably a pretty basic question) - how do the filmmakers generate profits from digital releases? And if they do, I suppose the crew get their share as well?

As far as I know, producers sell the rights to the digital media (Netflix, Amazon) for a price and probably on profit sharing basis on the views. The digital channels have multiple ways to earn the money i.e. some new subscriptions, number of views etc.

Cast, crew, filmmaker i mean directors etc get the money from production houses only. And there also you might have different means like profit sharing, straightaway charge or royalty etc.

I read the comment the cast needs to jump in front of a bus. I don’t understand how that would improve the film 😆😆

The answer is simple, you know no one in this world DESERVES hate but the enormous anger that has stemmed from SSR’s death as well as people already on the edge with COVID situation. The backlash is insane.

Coming back to a little talk about cultural trend. The entire vanity of ‘Beauty Aspirations’ have slowly experienced a shift to ‘Beauty that looks like me’. Likewise, For urban audience in cinema. I would watch a Jaydeep Ahlawat acting his heart out rather than the pretty and so called Greek Gods. Why? Because they don’t resonate with me. There’s definitely a slow shift in the trend cultures.

How does it impact cinema in the digital world? People want to look at people who aren’t just pretty faces anymore. They look for depth, intelligence and much more. There was a furore and discussion about all this before SSR but now, it’s like a catastrophic chain reaction.
