No, producers hold on to payments of crew members months after release. The lower in the rung you are, the more wait time. Most payments are done through installments and that's where the producers start bringing in box office numbers. Incase the film is a flop, all the more excuses do the producers have in delaying payments. Also a lot of work happens through vendors, like the equipments used in shooting are all rented so even there they do a lot of misdeed and stall payments of vendors running into lakhs for a long time. You can sometimes see vendors coming into the office and having a screaming match with the production house due to late payments.

Bigwigs are able to get their payments on time because well, they are bigwigs and come in with the star power. Refusal of pre release promotions will automatically make the producers release their payments quickly. And all these bigwigs come in with their own entourage and so even their payments are done out of the producers pocket so by the time the actual crew members are supposed to get paid, they don't have money to release and start with delays. It's a very unorganized industry with a lot of middlemen coming in and trying to pocket the money for themselves. That's why there are these artists forums, etc so that people can approach them incase of such breach of contracts and stuff and all of this is very common.

It's absolutely ridiculous how some of the members spew venom here just because their favorite actor's pants are on fire after SSR's death.

SSR was a well-known bollywood actor. There is a criminal case against Rhea and a CBI inquiry has started to investigate his death, both of which wouldn't have happened without the public outrage.

Now coming to this actress who supposedly killed herself for some rupees and a scooter, PLEASE! People couldn't get any more absurd than this!!

Suicide is not a joke and people need to stop assuming people's reasons for committing suicide. She obviously had mental health disorders, diagnosed or otherwise, to have taken such a drastic step and end her life. There are triggers but triggers aren't the sole reasons people decide to end their lives.

Suicide death should not be handled by Mumbai Police. It should be handled by CBI or completely different agency. We know how corrupt Mumbai police is now.
