Yes it may have existed even before the colonial rule but the colonial rule made it even stronger and honestly so many people shouldn't be considering them superior but they do.

What she said is wrong because stockholm syndrome needs someone suffering from abuse, Alia etc have not abused any of their fans on an interpersonal level.
