In Rajkumar Santoshi's Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, there is little the script has but whimsy. What the film has, however, is a full-blown superstar crackling in top form, working everything from slapstick to nuanced gags with consummate ease.

It's spontaneity of a kind very rarely seen in our leading men, and Kapoor, frequently referencing his granddad Raj, ends up showing a spark reminiscent of the great Kishore Kumar himself. Stunning.

^^ He can’t do Singham or Dabangg but if action is kept at a minimum and the masala elements are more comedy/romance he can do very well. An I don’t even like him 😳

Can’t believe that R. Balki spoke so much highly about Aalobir..

There are better actors who have worked in parallel cinema and regional movies..

Mr Balki if you come down south you will get actors much better than your alia and ranbir any day

Also Marathi and bengal films have great actors

But bollywood is biased to take them or give them a chance except a kamal hassan here or a sridevi there

Lets forget south, marathi and bengali actors

You feel ranbir and alia are the best because your bollywood is biased it does not give opportunity to talented youngsters to become hero/heroine because of bollywood family mafia

You producers and directors are scared that if you give opportunity to new comers without any back ground they may expose bollywood family hero/heroines low quality of work and become their competition

Thats why bollywood is producing utter thrash except for a rare good movie in main stream be it story, acting or music and lyrics

Lol. When you put these nepo kids on pedestal, such kinds of statements we can expect only in their defence. This is the problem we are talking about. Alia and Ranbir are decent actors but when you call them country's best, you are robbing off other actors' hard work and talent.

Now obviously this is my opinion, just as it's your opinion that he a great actor, both subjective opinions, that's what art is, what's not subjective though is that most of his films are flops. He was hyped up to be the next big superstar, never happened, were it not for his surname, he would never have been in the industry, let alone receive the hype that he does.

@Bold How does that make sense? Not everyone who wants to work work Ranbir will have it fulfilled simply because of the fact that Ranbir cannot be in every single movie there is. I'm sure if anyone of those people got an oppurtunity to work with him, they would take it. Example Shraddha, she has said seen ashiqui days she has wanted to work with ranbir but never got the chance and now that she did, she took it. And tbh with Salman, people never mention about his acting, its more to do with his stardom whereas with Ranbir, people have always maintained the reason they want to work with him is because he is a good actor. There has to be a reason why so many people deem him to be a good actor. Yeah both out opinions differ which is okay.

About the box office comment, Ranbir has had as many hits as flops. So has the likes of Sri devi and Salman Khan. Salman had bloody 10 flops in a row and is regarded as a superstar today. But i dont care if Ranbir never achieves the superstar title because I care more about his acting skills and acting wise, I personally dont think box office can determine how talented an actor is. For that matter someone like Katrina would be the best actor alive. Ranbir has had many hits as well though and most of his movies that flopped, had more to do with the movie rather than ranbir. Even a Salman Khan or Aamir Khan cannot save films like Roy.

Well I beg to differ. Ranbir has stated he only ever wanted to be an actor and that if he wasnt an actor now, he would be a struggling actor. So i do think he would have made it without his surname. Ranbir is someone that has both looks and talent which is what you need for bw.
