You are right except for one or two most were more successful than past gen or equal successful as their fathers. I have never seen sunny deol ever promote his movies at all till recently. Actually thats a major reason his movies did not do good abroad because no one knew hes there or his movies release etc. SRK movies and Amitabh bachchan were only star famous and of course Hrithik Roshan because they would get hyped on channels, newpaper etc when we were kids. In early 2000s net was also limited not like now, so as a kid i had no idea a sunny deol existed, a govinda existed or ajay devgan existed etc LOL it sounds unbelievable now. But yes in many places sunny deol, govinda etc never existed. Even Salman very rare existed all over india or nri market unlike now. OK we see some poster in theatre of their movie once in a while but hardly anyone watched their movies in many places. Its always SRK, Yash Raj, KJo movies or Hrithik and older gen it was amitabh and anil kapoor. Rest all were not so famous at all. Hardly anyone watched their movies may be in Mumbai, Delhi not many other places. These theatre/multi plex/DVD guys also hype only SRK/Hrithik/Yash Raj/Kjo only not others

Amir Khan and Ranveer singh are expert marketers and PR in the list

I never knew till kapil sharma show that sameer was anjaans son (recently i came to know when he came on show)

Even all music directors never knew they may be related to past bollywood folks, they gave good music thats all i knew actually hearing 90s songs

If you see many of these people they came up hard way. Like i said many had no idea sunny deol was dharmjis son in early 2000s too if you ask them in many parts of india/abroad. Same way for viju shah he was kalyanji anandji son majority will not know. But everyone will know hes gupt and vishwatmas and mohra music director. Same way jatin lalit who are related to vijeta pandit/pandit jasraj who knew? We only listen to their music in KKHH and yes boss etc, anand milind was chitragupt son no one will know but all know his music etc.

I think the reason for people not making the connection is that their stage names did not "match" their father's.

Sameerji has added the name Anjaan to his screen name since a long time now! Dunno if anyone else from his family has attempted a career in films?

I read somewhere that Viju Shah had also worked with Anand-Milind for a couple of years. And Vijuji's daughter is an extraordinary pianist. I came across a video of her playing on YouTube and was blown away.

I knew about Jatin Lalit; they are four siblings Jatin, Lalit, (Late) Sulakshana Pandit and Vijeta (Late Aadesh Shrivastava's wife). Even singers Shweta and Shraddha Pandit are related to them. Raahul Jatin (Jatin's son) and Avi (Vijeta's son) are cousins.

Anand Milind actually did not benefit much from Chitraguptaji's name. I read that after Chitraguptaji suffered a massive heart attack in the 70's, the brothers started to assist him to take care of his health. Apparently they are both degree holders and had no plans to get into the industry. Director Pankaj Parashar was their childhood friend and he decided to sign them, which was all three's debut. If anything they made it by themselves but gained practical knowledge from their father. I think they are the last big names from their family till now...never heard of anyone else. You think anyone might come in?

These are actually the names I am most curious to know about. I know Vijuji's daughter might not get it, but what about the others? Any guesses?

PS: When I read comments like celebs can't keep their children out of media glare, I think about these guys. Despite being such huge names they've kept their private life away, no one knows anything about their families. Such a nice healthy thing.

I wanted to murder everyone from cast to crew of Bombay Velvet. It is the worst movie on the planet. I wanted to kill everyone from PR, technical team and even censor for clearing the horrendous movie. What on the earth they were thinking.
