Why couldn't Rani survive after 2 successful years (2004, 2005)?

She was the lead in Bunty aur Bubly but Aishwarya's Kajra Re song take away the limelight from her.

Rani was lead in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna but everyone hated her role in the film and sympathized with Preity and Abhishek's roles. It may be the 1st film before Bajirao Mastani where lead couple (SRK-Rani) were hated and supporting cast was loved for glorifying extra marital affair.

Her downfall was so rapid ..She was the top heroine in 2005 and literally a nobody by 2008 .

huh? Rani is the only one from that era who is still relevant. She's has been giving hits even in her 40s. Her last film Mardaani 2 was actually really good. So was Hitchki.

She just doesn't do a lot of PR and attend every event in town wearing designer outfits. She's also not on social media seeking attention.

Rani is still relevant and doing good work. Her last movie Mardaani 2 was a hit and she carried it solely on her shoulders. Guess certain fans of a certain actress can't handle that

Kareena's still relevant

Competition happened. We had an influx of stars, actresses and pretty faces around that time - Sonam, Deepika, Anushka, etc entered and people's eyes were on the new hot girls in town. Rani stopped looking after her appearance and started to look old jaded, and new faces always sell more in Bollywood than older ones.

For those needing a good actress, there were Vidya and Konkona who were doing much better works; for those who wanted a pretty fresh face there was Sonam, Deepika, Katrina, Anushka. And those needing a commercial actress who could act - there was Kareena, Priyanka, Ash etc. Rani was doing really crap movies, so people moved on from her to the newer breed of celebrities... there was no dearth of actresses or stars or glam dolls so people obviously forgot her.

By the time she came to senses it was too late. Audience had already moved on to newer actresses and she fell behind... now she's doing good work and considered a respectable actress but her star power is on the wane.

Its not really rani..it was preity who suddenly started falling from 2007..and was nowhere in 2008-09

Rani had backing off yash raj actually thats why shes having movies even now

I think like priyanka was boycotted for affir with SRK, rani had to face boycott of all for aditya chopra affair

Yash chopra was still alive and aditya had married his best friends daughter so was suupporting his DIL

Thats why rani and dai married so late

If yash chopra was alive today may be marriage would be more delayed too

but i think adi helped her in everyway giving best roles and best movies again and again

Priety, ash did not have that support of producer to sustain careers

You observe everone having great career they have a strong back up especially heroines

kareena has kjo, rani had adi, only tabu has sustained without much support alone

Aishwarya had support from SLB till 2003. It was SLB who insisted Rituparno Ghosh to cast her in Chokher Bali instead of Nandita Das, the original choice of the film. Rituparno also mentioned SLB in the last credit of the film but later when Salman ruined Aishwarya's career by creating havoc in Chalte Chalte set Rani took the opportunity and made SRK & Aditya Chopra lobby for her.

Rani benefited the most from Aishwarya's tension with Salman & SRK. At times Aishwarya was the muse of SLB after Devdas he infact apprached her for Bajirao Mastani and also SLB was going to make Padmavaati with her but her personal setback with Salman & professional setback with SRK ruined her career for 3 years post Devdas. That period Rani took the opportunity which were supposed to be for Aishwarya and that made Rani overnight number one actress during 2004 & 2005 period.

Once two best friends (Rani & Ash) became sore rivals and Aishwarya still ignores Rani because she ruined her career during 2003-2005 phase. Later Aishwarya took the revenge by taking away limelight from Rani from Rani's film by doing only one song Kajra Re.

Rani ruined two lives for certain period or atleast got benefited from it. First professionally she ruined Aishwarya's career for 3 years and personally she ruined Payel Chopra's marital life by doing extra marital affair with Aditya Chopra.

Both Rani and Preity fell rapidly but I thikn that is because THEY WNATED TO STOP ACTING, Preity especially.. she wanted to settle down and concentrate on cricket. She stopped doing movies.
