We still think it’s ok to call someone ugly? You don’t like him that’s fine but you don’t need to emphasise on someone being ‘really ugly’.
Who is this "we" ?? Seriously??!! Learn to take other's opinions when they differ from yours , especially in a public forum or go home. This is like the basic of character building.
For instance, I could have said I find you overestimating about a strictly average look and acting wise both actor really ott. But I just stated my own opinion didn't I ! Also , him looking really ugly in ghost stories could be part of his character ( which was that of an insane person) just like how he looked terrible in the later half of LM which was part of the character arc.
In Bulbul, he was the weakest link. In the hands of a more capable actor, his character could have come across as less tone deaf flat line and just may be more layered.
And just because you think ( or more accurately, you say you think ) that for an actor ,who is playing ML roles to boot , and not character roles , looks dont matter doesn't mean the rest of the world has to think the same . In fact the rest of the world don't. Looks are very much part of the package if you're going for lead roles and for character actors , there are far more capable ones out there and I lap up their content , just like the rest of world does. Some of my fav actors are Nawazuddin, Irfan Khan, Manoj Bajpai and KK Menon. Also Arshad Warsi after Asur . Jitendra after Pitchers and Panchayet. None of them are considered conventionally good looking. I notice Avinash's lack of good looks because he couldn't offer anything else to make up for it.
