I really hope, he gets some good project. In Bulbbul, he didn't have much scope. Want to see him in more movies. ❤️

He looked so different in Bulbbul and Ghost Stories. I didn't realize he was the same guy.
I found him very ugly in ghost stories. Like , really ugly. His acting in it was also average strictly.
He was quite good in Laila Majnu, but the movie was utter garbage, especially the last 60 % of it.
He was alright in Bulbul , but both Rahul and Parambrata completely outshined him performance wise .

We still think it’s ok to call someone ugly? You don’t like him that’s fine but you don’t need to emphasise on someone being ‘really ugly’.
Anyway, my cents on his ACTING because for an actor looks is secondary, honestly don’t even bother about that.
He’s an underrated gem. His command over his delivery is amazing, the way he became Majnu from Qais was soul-stirring! No wonder he was listed in the top 100 performances of the decade. Even a film like LM which went unnoticed, his performance was too good to ignore.
You can’t ever recognise it’s the same guy who played the character in THMS and as far as Satya goes, he underplayed that beautifully. People get the character and actor confused often. Param is a brilliant actor and his character Sudip was obviously the better man than Satya but the latter was completely in the unknown. He was the passive aggressive patriarch and what’s wonderful is that Avinash acknowledges it too. He understands his characters so well!
Honestly....those who didn't watch Laila Majnu....trust me....you missed nothing. This movie is a disappointment disaster.....there are many scenes where I literally cringed and the leads' acting were strictly okay okay....at least Tripti looked good....can't say the same about Avinash though I think his smile is somewhat sweet....

Agree on everything specially the last line. Also I think Rahul, Param and Paoli easily outshined Avinash and Tripti, but that is expected from them as all of them are far experienced actors...
For me Rahul was just on another level in Bulbul 👏 And Param is better looking and a brilliant actor than most....but he won't get mentioned as much for the reasons we all know....
I didn't watch Laila Majnu. Watched Bulbul and I think Avinash was okay and not something to rave about. His character was weak yes I agree but he didn't do anything special to make it worthy of applause though.
Parambrata, who is a veteran and a much better, smooth actor, shone in the little role that he was given and stood out. Rahul Bose aced it and so did Paoli and Tripti.
I found Avinash the weakest amongst the prominent characters.
Laila Majnu as a movie, I enjoyed the most in last hour or so. The first half to be honest was a bit underbaked to me. The same.. guy stalking girl, girl refusing at first but then falling for the same guy.. I wish their love story was more properly developed, so that when Majnu finally descends in madness, we can feel for them.. but we are not shown when exactly did they fall so deeply for each other. That is the weakest point. But Avinash's performance as Majnu is what made the movie memorable to me. U can clearly see with his shift in expressions when he actually started going mad. It was not just Laila for him.. but the idea of being in love..[SPOILER] That one scene and dialogue was very powerful when he is hallucinating Laila and talking to her and while in that trance mistakenly disturbs the people offering namaz. He asks "Why did you hit me? Agreed that I was talking to my lover.. I was in love and completely lost and thats why I couldnt see you, but you too were talking to your love, then how come you saw me? Did I say anything to you then?"
Thats how pure his love had become. The movie was too good in the second half but first half could have been much better.

That’s the one flaw I find in the movie too. I wish there was more of Laila and Qais together! For some reason in all these love legends, the ‘together’ time is so less. It’s a shame because Avinash and Tripti have chemistry to die for. But have to give it to to the writing also for the fact that they sort of always showed Qais as ‘paagal’, that’s how everyone saw him. He was the off guy everyone talked about as if he’s crazy and eventually he did actually lose his mind. Avinash deserved awards for that performance, such a shame.
