As I am someone who had been industry kid Varun Dhawan fan for a long time have enjoyed the fan fights, showed off his manufactured farzi 100 percent record I would like to share my few cents on this topic.
His 2nd movie Main Tera Hero opens at 5.5 Cr in 2300 something screens & he gets declared as the new IT massy star claims are made by Trade ppl that its the highest opening for 2nd outing of any newcomer completely neglecting the FACT that an year prior a certain Sushant Singh Rajput's Shuddh Desi Romance opened at 6.3 Cr in 1600 screens, no hype nada, the trade takes ages to declare a Dil dhadakne do, Mubarakan or October a Flop and never really tags them openly but a Kedarnath is termed as SSR's Flop with occupancy reports itself though when actual opening numbers come out which are actually decent the narrative is again changed quickly and it becomes Sara Ali Khan's super successful debut....
Its not just about the Fact that somebody as below avg as Alia Bhatt signs films specifically curated for her with tailor made roles that are lobbied/arm twisted her way by Kjo or Reshma it might just be 1 or 2 releases annually out of 250 odd films but its also about the fact that this corrupted a$$holish power structure makes sure ki those are the only 1or 2 releases which will garner all the hype, awards, brands, phoney statements by "veterans".
Yeah their Films flops Kjo can't buy all tickets for beti, but the glaring difference lies in the FACT that her Shaandaar gets declared a BO & Critical DISASTER the next thing Dharma does is arm twist ppl & announces a Heroine Centric Dear Zindagi Starring Alia Bhatt directed by Gauri Shinde with Shahrukh effing Khan as her sidekick.
While a SSR's highly acclaimed Detective Byomkesh Bakshi Flops, from Paani to Chanda mama, every other film of his gets shelved, Dharma's Drive which was touted to be Ryan Gosling's classic Drive's remake a Holi release is turned into god knows what, latkaoed for years and finally dumped on Netflix. Whereas All time Disaster Bombay Velvet ke baad there's a "RK tum sangharsh karo hum tumhare saath hain" kinda wave within the industry with Kjo cheer leading the movement in the form of ADHM (& cushioning of plethora of big wig projects, same as Alia-Kalank debacle scenario)
SSR's Murlikant Pedkar biopic gets shelved coz there are too many army/deshbhakti films are being made esp by/for Kjo's cronies, while a talentless hack super Flop Sidharth Malhotra can retain a Vikram Batra biopic , Sushant coming from Kedarnath and a 160 Cr BB Chichore has to let go his films.
So yeah ppl should STOP blaming just Nepotism bcoz its a combination of Nepotism, Cronyism, Groupism, Favouritism, Lobbying, Snatching brands projects, Maligning image, Exclusion and worst of all creating hoax projects to chock-block an extremely promising self made young star's dates. Despite everything these ppl & stans have the nerve to showcase nauseating level of denial, delusion, insensitivity & desperation.
