Honestly while watching this movie I kept thinking... this isn't mansoor this is sushant. A little timid, awkward but endearing.
EXACTLY. Right from the mannerisms, the tone of voice, the way he fed his mother in this song, to the way he shyly looked away and smiled after drinking tea from the same cup as Mukku, it was all Sushant. Like I would totally think he's like that in real life.
Even in the cave scene when Mukku/Mansoor kiss, the whole bit of Mansoor talking about the death of his father, the regret and singing Lag Jaa Gale, it all felt so Sushant.
Because I just watched this movie literally 2 weeks before Sushant's death and liked it so much, the whole movie is so fresh in my mind. I can't help but draw the parallels in Mansoor's story and Sushant's. Looking at the broad picture, both of them are men who just did their own thing sincerely and honestly, and then you have something that constantly pulled him in (Mukku for Mansoor / acting for Sushant) and they get sucked into it, wanting it more than they could handle, and eventually end up loosing their life because of it.
Please don't mind my long post. But even in the scene when Mansoor tells Mukku that you'll also leave me one day, I can't help but constantly think of Sushant mentioning on so many occassions that he won't get films and that he'll act via other mediums. And Mansoor acted like he was cool and knew that it would happen (same with Sushant acting like he can act other ways) but in real life, couldn't handle it and were just trying to hide their pain and how much they wanted it.
The whole film just gets me on another level after his death. Honestly can't stop finding the parallels.
