For example--

Shubh Mangal Zyaada Saavdhan -- A film which uses humour to address a social taboo and which brings on the mushiness, the ache, and the romance of forbidden love within a family mileu.

Panga -- Simple concept but masterful execution, combining stellar acting and flawless direction

Love Aj Kal 2-- A film more broken and unhinged than its protagonists

Chapaak -- Good premise ruined by horrible screenplay

Street Dancer 2 -- Waste of money even for hardcore dance lovers

Thappad -- Beautiful film ruined by one-note acting

Don't kill me but I haven't watched any of them. Only Thappad is my bucket list. Also, SMZS

Going as per release dates:

Ghost Stories- A pretentious hodge podge of a horror film that neither scares not thrills.

Bhangra Paale- Feel good dance film on bhangra with the best music album of the year so far.

Tanhaji- An aesthetically pleasing action movie with a soulless screenplay.

Chapaak- A nicely conceptualized tale based on a true story completely marred by a lackluster screenplay and a wooden Deepika Padukone.

Panga- A beautiful concept of a working mother going back to living her dreams spoilt by a choppy screenplay with a repetitive and boring second half.

Street Dancer- Lackluster dance drama with an overenthusiastic cast that's not watchable beyond a point.

Jawaani Jaaneman- A refreshing and destressing fun watch with Saif back at his elements and Alaya delivering one of the best debut performances in the recent years.

Malang- The film you watch and think why was it even made in the first place.

Bhoot- A horror film that doesn't scare you even for a bit, ticking off all the most common tropes used in every other horror film.

Love Aaj Kal 2- What was the director smoking while making the film and how high were Sara and Kartik while acting do horribly in the film.

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan- A film that tries to be woke but turns out to be a cringe fest with Ayushmann overacting the hell out.

Yeh Ballet- A heart touching tale of two boys from Mumbait tryingto make a name in the world of Ballet and what basically Street Dancer should've actually been like.

Thappad- Best film of the year so far, period.

Guilty- When Dharma tries to become woke but fails miserably.

Angrezi Medium- A confusing and unfunny sequel that shouldn't have been Irrfan Khan's swan song.

Review of the ones that I have watched:

1. Tanhaji - Decent VFX, nothing else to write about.

2. Chapaak- Nice career milestone for Vikrant Massey, nothing else to remember.

3. Panga- Starts beautifully but gets boring in the end.

(Extra line: Could have made more business if Kangana hadn’t made a fool out of herself through her off-screen theatrics: people no longer notice her talent!)

4. Street Dancer- Better watch an episode of Dance-plus.

5. Jawaani Jaaneman- Good one time watch.

(Extra line: Saif should stick to this genre)

6. Malang- Wish it were never made- motive of the killer is laughable!

7. Bhoot- Evidence that there are people other than Vikram Bhatt who can make horror genre and still fail miserably.

8. Love Aaj Kal 2- Evidence that Imtiaz should revisit his oldest movies and learn from them, or quit his career as a film maker.

9. Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan- A loud, cringey embarrasment that the Pride Movement doesn’t need.

10. Yeh Ballet- How dance movies should be made, Remo please take notes!

11. Guilty- The audience is guilty of even thinking that KJo can produce meaningful cinema!

Panga - Beautiful movie.. Made me see actress Kangana in another light.. very capable and subtle

Thappad - Hitting the right notes, hard

SMZS - light hearted take on a relevant and sensitive issue

Street dancer - Couldnt complete

Baaghi 3 - couldnt complete

Jawani jaaneman - loved Alaya, biggest takeaway of the movie for me

Tanhai - This and JJ r the only ones I watched in theatres. Authentic sets, nice acting and good vfx.. Impressive

Malang - Okay types
