People shouldn't romanticize these things in real life. Had he been with Kiran maybe he would've had different type of dangerous obsessive feelings like don't step out of the house or talk to other men. Or only do things that revolve around me or don't ever leave my sight. His issues wasn't just that he wanted Kiran, they were deeper than that and went far back, to the loss of his mother who he still talked to like she was alive.

Also we are in 2020 now, guys please if your loved ones are suffering from mental illnesses they need professional help. Your love and support is extremely important of course but they are not magical cure. I haven't dealt with other types of illnesses but I watched my younger brother suffer from severe depression for so many years because we decided to cure his depression with the power of our love.

Everything you writing or assuming isn't based on any real evidence that Rahul was indeed suffering from mental disorder even before meeting kiran back then. That character was written in mind that he wasn't suppose to be with Kiran.

This thread question is Hypothetical, treat it that way only, no need to bring Real life crisis into this. Films are fiction, don't drag your life in between this & analyse things.

No, Rahul's love was obsession not a healthy feeling, but a toxic one. She could never have lived with such a man, whose feelings bordered on manic. She would have seen right through that.

Agni sakshi or Daraar is that version of Darr.

Seriously?! Everything he did wasn't proof enough that he was mentally ill?

And fiction is based on real life. There are thousands of Rahuls in the real world as well.

Darr started with Kiran waiting for Sunil(Sunny Deol), which means Film wasn't even near anyway to point where this thread's question is asked.

That's what I said. Rahul was mentally ill even before he met Kiran. Nobody becomes mentally ill in one day over a random girl. Mental illness exists inside you and expresses itself gradually.

It cannot be that, I am perfectly sane and normal one day but next day I see a girl and instantly become insane. 🤪

And we know from real life how men like Rahul behave in relationships.

Obsession is not love,,,, love do have phases one do get possessive for their partner but if you are on stage where you are not concern for your partner consent you need a Doctor whether it is Rahul or Kabir Singh,,,,,

Its coz of SRK performance that today also they feel sympathy for the character, but i never sympathized with Rahul specially when he killed his innocent friend (Anu kapoor) Rahul deserves death but it would be better if Kiran killed him

Nobody knows Rahul's mental illness until the point he get to know that Kiran is fallen in love with other guy, have you seen Rahul's act before Sunny Deol's love angle is introduced, does he kill someone or does he harass kiran? NO.

I can name you so many Love Stories where Hero is madly in love with heroine, even in some does strangest things & We have loved those HEROES like anything.

Again & Again saying u know ppl like Rahul doesn't help anything, i know their are evil like those in real life. But that isn't the question here, question is before that.

I think he lost it when his mother died and father doesn't have time for him

Rahul was a psycho, sadist, criminal-minded person who inflicted pain on himself and could inflict pain on others too. Feeling sorry or wanting such a person to be happy is disturbing. Kiran would have loved him initially not knowing his medical issue, but then later end up being Priya from Darrar.

People try to give excuses for such people when they commit any crime. I don't have any pity for such people even if they were tortured or suffered in their childhood as it doesn't give them a free pass to do the same with others. Such people are harmful to society and should be killed before they kill others. Treating them is impossible.

If Madhuri's character could end up with Anil's in Pukar then meh I don't see much outrage over this.

I don't remember much of this movie probably cos I was 5 and was barred from watching it. All that sticks out is my obsession with "tut gayi tut gayi" and SRK-Juhi as a pair.

Either way, it's no brilliant piece of writing nor do the characters have enough depth to lend itself to serious discussion.

And please don't quote me on this, for I'm not one to promote "the girl can change the guy" thinking, my knowledge of the film remains restricted to the tidbits I watched through the keyhole and not it's entirety.
