They've got people distracted and counting other people's donations instead of asking real questions. The PM has literally created his own slush fund with no accountability. Where is the money going? Which percentage goes where? Real charities have to make their expenses public including how much they spend on staff and internal expenses and how much actually reaches people in need.

The only donation that actually makes sense is Salman's because those people will get the money they need directly. I wouldn't trust a single thing associated with politicians in India.

I literally just said the same thing as you. Did not say that people are doing charity for them. Just said they make money from ordinary just like any other celebrity (film stars, sportsmen, etc.) who are paid to entertain. People fill their pockets for their own entertainment. I was stating how we shouldn't expect anything from these people because at the end of the day, it's their money. If they don't wanna give it, what can we do or expect?!.

do celebs need to donate, is it compulsory? Obviously not. So I don't support this witch hunting.

But is the hope from a common man to think a privilege one will help the common people wrong? No. It is just an expectation of good gesture from someone who can do that good gesture.

As for some people getting upset why Khans are targeted. Well, not fault of Khans, but this is a simple social media politics. Just like Khans are getting shamed now, few days back people where taunting all the celebs and business who are seen as Modi supporters. Akki, AB Sr, Kohli, Mahindras, Ambani and so on, were all being taunted.

Is tit for tat good? No obviously, but I can't overlook that this trolling is a retaliation for the social media negativity that was earlier carried out by BJP/Modi haters, and so now the dumbass Bhakts will do the same exact dumbassary that liberals dumbasses did few days back.

yeah Salman's donation was transparent because he specifically pledged that he will support the workers who now have no source of income..

but do you know where the government says where the money donated by everyone would get used in? i googled and found nothing.. also it says "i pledge to the PM's CARE fund".. i googled that too and only found news of how much certain celebrities donated..not much else

it could also mean other celebrities are sceptical about the operation of THIS fund, maybe they are donating some other way.. personally i wouldn't donate to any fund without knowing where my money will be used..

There is no information. If anyone asks, they will be directly called antinational. It's their way of preventing any criticism by attacking people's patriotism.

Nobody has a clue how much money is now in the fund and nobody knows where it will go. Which states will get money, who will benefit, will it be restricted to COVID-19 activities... or will it be used in BJP campaigns and their repulsive IT cell and their fake Whatsapp factory?

There was already an existing PM fund so why was a new one created? Why does any government need to ask for donations anyway? They even beg/demand money for the army!

People are being coerced into "donating" with companies cutting a day's pay and giving it to this fund. The whole thing is so shady and to do this when people are already struggling with their own problems.

If people want to donate, give it directly to people who need it or give it to reputable old charities that have transparency, not to this.
