And we got to know this years after he started doing it. He also believes that any sort of donation and charity should be done in silence and dignity. He's the last person you can call fake lol.

They will still call him out - Khans are the ultimate targets in every scenario. Although we all know how much they do especially their fans. But haters gnna hate

In this case when negativity and bad news is everywhere, people should definitely annouce their donations. Kudos to Kartik and Akshay Kumar. I am appalled at the lack of sympathy and donations from the great Khans, Bacchans,Tendulkar, and other super rich bollywood and cricket celebrities.

Will not be spending one rupee to watch their movies or cricket.

Empathy from Khans? Did u not see SRKs efforts and his video on corona and curfew? Did u not hear Salman Khan protecting daily wagers? The man does constant charity work on an everyday basis. You guys need to stop attacking others and do ur research first

I cannot comment on shaming those who aren’t donating because I don’t understand it either....But hey definitely all this amount is being used up in providing for these people...But considering India’s population, no amount is enough...There is so much cost involved in each thing...First of all because of the lockdown, you must understand that there is no work getting done and the income has become almost nil...Its not just the daily wagers but the small time businesses also are taking a huge cut...Government has to provide padding for everyone at this time...So yes, the money is getting used for the proper cause...Not just in India but take any country for that matter...They all are getting heavy donations and using them towards helping the people effected because of this stupid pandemic!

well looking at the news it doesn't seem like it is going to those poor migrant workers who were displaced..an apology doesn't cut it...

currently people are just obsessed with who donated what amount..maybe they need to start asking pertinent question like how will the money be used to help those who are in need..and not spray them with disinfectant land bleach like they are dispensable

Lol, these celebs are really dumb for declaring how much they are donating. I agree that some are 'kanjoos' but they are putting themselves up for more scrutiny.

Also, as good people, we should all donate if we can. We don't need any celebrity to set an example.

We are putting them down because we expect better. We made these people rich, we gave them their fame. The least they can do is contribute back.

If we were rich we would do it too. We have every right to demand and expect.

Love how people are like celebs don’t owe anyone anything. Of course they don’t. But the truth is the public THE GENERAL PUBLIC who have little to no disposable income make up for majority of their movie goers. The truth is if these people don’t spend money on you and your movies or your presentation of entertainment, their would be no job for you. So yeah they do owe the public something. I can only speak for myself, I only support businesses or celebrities who support the community. There are now websites which will tell you which corporation or celebrity did what during this time of crisis, and needless to say my money will only go to people who actually helped. I’m no karthik fan, but my money will now go to him hereafter because he doesn’t make a lot yet he donated such an amount, good for him!

India’s population is close to 1.5 billion of which hardly even half are able to stay home without any help....The rest half consists of the front liners, the daily wagers and the other displaced people....I cannot even imagine the amount of money, work and the workforce needed to provide for all these people....Well I believe the disinfectant is being sprayed on everyone including the people who are arriving in the airports- so its basically their way to make sure they are doing their bit to kill the virus I guess...

If I were you, I wouldn’t be complaining at all about the ‘obsession’ to donate- I say, that’s a great obsession to have...Forget India, I bet even the so called developed countries will welcome such obsessions at this point(or any point for that matter ;) )

And news, sigh...I lost trust in these cut and paste videos and the news channels long time back...They will show you only those things that they would like you to see...For all we know the situation could be even worse but we will only see what they want us to see...There is just no reliable news channel or source that we can trust today...Sad state of affairs!

You could have named Dhoni first before Dada. Dhoni is not mum, he donated 1 Lakh. 😳

Dada managed to get the Eden Garden used for Treatment. That would mean something additional to his minimal 50L though.

@Bold, why do you expect anything from them? Showbiz as it is, is an extremely conceited, self-obsessed, and nepotistic world of its own. We give them their fame but let's not pretend we aren't aware of reality here. The majority of celebrities are only concerned with themselves and their own 'image' or 'publicity (good or bad)'. I'm not saying what they do (or don't) is good. I just don't get why people are expecting anything from these people as if it is a surprise. People like Alia and KJo are still up to their shitty shenanigans when people around the world are suffering. Hollywood celebs are sitting in their multi-million dollar mansion and posting "I'm bored" or crying videos whereas the rest of the world is scourging for money, electricity, food, income, etc. Mark Zuckerburg & Bill Gates who are 2 of the richest men on the planet are donating 25M together (12.5M each). Kylie Jenner, a billionaire, is donating 1M. They are BILLIONAIRES. What can you say and expect from them? They made money from ordinary people. That's life. Unfortunate.

Kudos to those who actually went out of their way to donate beyond their means (such as Karthik). THAT is a surprise.
