The 34-year-old actress was the first to be approached by Sarkar for the lead role, however, the actress has turned it down, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was approached next.

A source revealed, “The makers met Deepika a couple of months ago to give her a story narration. She liked the story and agreed to read the script. But then she got busy with Chhapaak promotions and kept them hanging in limbo saying that she would get back to them. Finally, her team reverted after more than a month saying that she couldn’t do the movie as she wanted to do light-hearted subjects and not heavy or serious movies, which would consume her emotionally.”

Did you notice she didnt say "mentally" drained...she said emotionally drained. Usko pata hai ke everyone know she has depression, so now shes using a new term for "emotions" and emotionally drained. Yeh naya feature hai humari Deepu Singh mein jo 2020 ki strategy hai.

Naya term use karke bhi kuch naya nahi hai - again she wants everyone to feel sorry for her, same old tricks.

I'm not sure if I belong to the category you seem to have created, but, regardless, something's odd about this tidbit. How could the same story be offered to a 34-year old and a 46-year-old? But then both DP and Aish are known for nearly always claiming they were the first to be approached to play lead roles, so one shouldn't even be surprised. 😉

Thanks and you have a point, too. That said, I can't say I sympathize with DP that much. She seriously bugs - at times even more than the new bunch of self-entitled, dumb and talent-free nepokids.

Maybe, but it's not like DP looks forty-something and Aish - thirty-something. Shouldn't there be some inner logic to the story of women of either ages?
