Its Mahabharata no Matter who tells it. The casting has to be write. I can't explain it but once you read the epic or watch the movie you will know how important casting is

Not like blood related siblings siblings but he was protective towards her in brother kind of way.

Friend kind of way to be more precise neither of them call eachother their sibling throughout the course of the epic they were content being friends and companion and i would like to keep it that way

You see Krishna never found it necessary to call draupaudi his sister to show how protective he was of her she was his friend his sakhi and he was her sakha and that is enough

The film is about Draupadi. Not about Mahabharat.

Drapaudi is part of Mahabharata is she not?? A most important prominent of the epic

I get its about her life her pov but still casting of other characters has to be write for it to work. Krishna was important part of her life they shared a very close relationship you can't just take any random actor and ruin Krishna s essence

As i said i can't explain you need to read epic yourself to understand what i mean

All i am saying is that deepika does not need to pull dirty tricks to take the centre stage draupaudi the character is an enigma an insiparation in itself all she needs to do is pay attention to her acting skills

Can't agree more. People don't understand the friendship, and they immediately started sanitizing it. Leave Krishna/Draupadi as friends as they acknowledged. If he wanted to call her sister, there was nothing stopping him from doing so. He didn't.

My peeve with all the Krishnas on screen so far is they've been so darned feminized! The Mahabharata text gives a nice description of Krishna - voice like thunder, biceps like mountains etc☺️. Plus, an incredible swordsman. He also knew how to fight with mace. Why, oh why, do filmmakers turn him into a girl? From that POV, I would want HR to play Krishna.

The problem is, as you said, Krishna wasn't only the flute-playing charmer or Arjuna's friend or hot hunk who knew how to fight. He was a master strategist who knew how to make use of people's strengths/weaknesses and bring things to a satisfactory conclusion. Krishna was quite ruthless also, to the point of using his own sister to stop the enemy. Arjuna gets blamed for Subhadraharan, but it was Krishna who practically pushed Arjuna into it. I can't see HR in the ruthless mastermind role.

The only person in the whole Mahabharata text who got to tell Krishna what to do was actually Draupadi😆 - several times, in fact. There is one particular scene after war when they discuss Arjuna's... er... attributes...😆

Honestly, I can't see Deepika in that role, either. I hope she doesn't turn the awesome woman into a weeping idiot.

Ikr people really fail to understand the relationship that drapaudi krishna shared. Or who they were as individuals exactly krishna was more than flute player he was enigma even we take out tye divine aspect of his character then also he was to put it simply enigma a force to reckon with. There are many times when you feeling like bowing to him not because he was god incarnate but because of he was as individual and for the kind games he played. And drapaudi well to put simply she was Krishna herself they were two parts of a being just another part of eachother

I am still waiting for somebody to present mb s character as they were they were grey humans that what they were nothing more nothing less

+1 . Agree with everything.

Shri Krishna was a warrior first and foremost. The whole bogus Radha Krishna story and the stupid followers have forgotten the true essence..like is it even that hard even if those simpletons can't join the dots? Mahabharata with all those mighty warriors and they be singing about Radha...And exchanging clothes and dancing and what not.
