You see Krishna never found it necessary to call draupaudi his sister to show how protective he was of her she was his friend his sakhi and he was her sakha and that is enough
Can't agree more. People don't understand the friendship, and they immediately started sanitizing it. Leave Krishna/Draupadi as friends as they acknowledged. If he wanted to call her sister, there was nothing stopping him from doing so. He didn't.
My peeve with all the Krishnas on screen so far is they've been so darned feminized! The Mahabharata text gives a nice description of Krishna - voice like thunder, biceps like mountains etc☺️. Plus, an incredible swordsman. He also knew how to fight with mace. Why, oh why, do filmmakers turn him into a girl? From that POV, I would want HR to play Krishna.
The problem is, as you said, Krishna wasn't only the flute-playing charmer or Arjuna's friend or hot hunk who knew how to fight. He was a master strategist who knew how to make use of people's strengths/weaknesses and bring things to a satisfactory conclusion. Krishna was quite ruthless also, to the point of using his own sister to stop the enemy. Arjuna gets blamed for Subhadraharan, but it was Krishna who practically pushed Arjuna into it. I can't see HR in the ruthless mastermind role.
The only person in the whole Mahabharata text who got to tell Krishna what to do was actually Draupadi😆 - several times, in fact. There is one particular scene after war when they discuss Arjuna's... er... attributes...😆
Honestly, I can't see Deepika in that role, either. I hope she doesn't turn the awesome woman into a weeping idiot.
