Raise a toast to Bhumi Pednekar, Yami Gautam, Ayushmann Khurrana and Amar Kaushik. Bala has hit a boundary.

Well, like always, first things first. Yami Gautam has arrived. She made her presence strongly felt with Kaabil, Bala has affirmed that she's here to stay. Filmmakers, please sit up. Next up, Bhumi Pednekar continues to dance her way up after Son Chidiya and Saand Ki Aankh. Ayushmann Khurrana once again pulls it off with his quirky and affable mannerisms, who says 2019 has not been a large glass of champagne for him!

Thank God, I did not remember Ujda Chaman for even a second. Isliye toh kehte hain na- director and actor(s) both count. Well done, Amar. First Stree (which wasn't my cup of tea surprisingly) and now this. Even you have arrived.

Don't you dare blink when Ayushmann tells his dad (played wonderfully by Saurav Shukla) that the problem lies in the genes that he has transmitted to him. Don't you dare look at your WhatsApp (even though you are expecting a mushy text from your lover) when Bhumi Pednekar lashes out at Ayushmann to ask him that how has he put her on Instagram.

And don't you dare breathe, yes, I wrote BREATHE, when Yami tells Ayushmann that why she is a vanity freak. I love truth and I love it when it is told on the face. What you are, say what you are. Sorry, I am digressing.

But the movie tends to digress, err, drop in patches- especially after Bhumi Pednekar takes up the cudgels for Ayushmann. The court scene is a bit tacky.

The physical fight between Ayushmann and his brother should have been scissored. Absolutely avoidable.

Also, the film takes a good 20-25 minutes to warm on you. Yami Gautam enters, the screen is lit up, Bhumi interjects with powerful gusto, Ayushman goes almost mad- and the rest, as they say, is funny mayhem.

A special mention for Javed Jaffrey and Seema Pahwa's contribution. Cheers!

And hey, how can I forget Ayushmann's mimicry of Dev Anand, Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. Jaffrey joins in and brings the house down. Last but maybe not the least, Yami and Ayushmann's dances on the chartbusters of 80s and 90s.

Has the ball crossed the ropes? Hmmm, yeah. It's a FOUR.

A small confession: 'Cheers' was a give-away. Time for a drink. And tonight, let me raise the toast to Bala.
