An entertaining commercial potboiler will always find an audience be it masala family or slick action entertainers... I think people went overboard with the audience will only watch good content narrative because the Khan's commercial big screen spectacles flopped in 2018. TOH, Race 3 and Zero did open well but the content was rejected by the audience because it was not what they were promised. No one goes to watch a commercial potboiler to see avant garde out of the box content they go to get entertained and experience a big screen spectacle. If the entertainment factor is missing in a commercial potboiler ofcourse it will flop.

Simmba was very entertaining.. I watched the movie twice in two different houseful theatres. People of different age groups were enjoying the movie to the max. My most fave movie of 2018 was Andhadhun but that movie had an average opening and depended on wom. Same goes for Stree and Badhaai Ho.

True, I guess it's about a movie connecting with the audience rather than the quality. Dhoom 3 was also at least as bad as Thugs but somehow it was an all time blockbuster (evidently it had good WOM..) so you never know.

Good content & entertaining are not mutually exclusive. A movie can be both. 3 Idiots, PK, Bajrangi Bhaijaan etc fall in that. Look at the Marvel movies!

Maybe the content of Simmba seemed good to those who liked it lol! Good content is not equal to avant garde snooze fest! I have nothing against slow burn movies at all. I love those. But those can be terrible too!

Ya that’s what it is. People going for the brand. It’s like how some branded bags are Wowza (even if they look kinda not very nice looking haha) but everyone says it’s a super brand so it must be lol!

I have no idea. I cringed watching the trailer and didn't even bother watching this trash film.

It was a Rohit Shetty movie...so maybe the audience found it entertaining....I was surprise at the 4 stars it was getting from critics....I mean how would this shitfest get 4 stars from critics? beats me.....How come no critics and feminists raised a hue and cry over how shamelessly Shetty and Ranvir used the rape of the poor girl to sell this movie...did they even think about how her family would have felt....shameless to the core and yet the critics were OK with it??🤢

Critics are often ridiculous. Like Thugs or Zero are bashed as if they were some of the worst movies ever (they were bad no doubt but the circlejerk against them a bit too much) and then the same critics act like Simmba is a good movie. Wth!

😂😂

Some of the critic on this movie is ridiculous. I don’t know if the people actually watched the movie. Pretentious “woke” ness regarding this movie is downright hilarious. I would argue but it is quite redundant at this point. The hypocrisy is not surprising added with the usual burn. 😂

I'm not even "woke", the movie just sucked..and hypocrisy of critics and audience is the problem here. Trash one dumb masala movie, then praise another even though both are bad
