Everyone gives a damn. That's why every young actor keeps planting articles calling himself the next SRK, old actors' fans desperately post every other day how they're beating SRK, other fans go into a jealous snit every time SRK gets some recognition that their favorites don't get, etc.

In the 90s, there used to be hilarious articles (some of them were still online until recently) about how Govinda and Nana Patekar were bigger stars than SRK. If you look, you will even find ones saying Chandrachur Singh will overtake SRK. It was always a joke.

SRK is a living legend .He is more respected personality than Akki can ever be.

Also Akki has Zero evergreen movies n he is controversial

There was a time when AB was at the lowest of lows. With movies like ajooba, mrityu data, lal badhaj..People were mocking him, insulting him..Bankrupt bhi huye..Kya kya nahi dekha..But he reinvented himself and look a him now..The only actor active among his contemporaries and doing acclaimed movies.

So we cannot write SRK off..He has taken a break and will reinvent. Nahi kiya to he can go down the rajesh khanna way. Hope he doesn't lose the drive and is smart enough.

Credit for Akshay's career entirely goes to his foresightedness..He never goes overboard..Always ensures his movies make money..And more importantly they keep coming. Akshay is never out of sight. And has done all genres and never fallen in a rut. Intelligent hai banda.

As for people saying he does nationalist ( will ignore the other word used with it in some comment, coz I don't have garbage mentality) movies ..He does issue based movies like Padman or TEPK, they aren't nationalist unless u believe u should take care of hygiene only if u love ur nation and not otherwise..

Aur SRK ne to apna poora career romantic movies par banaya hai..Hope he changes.

Plus, if Bhakts make all bhakti movies work, movie on Modi should've been n ATBB.

AK's movies work coz they r well made

SRK is face of Bollywood . He is not your regular Akshay Kumar .He is Dr. SRK, an intellectual, most celebrated Bollywood actor ever. His brand value is much bigger than other actors NOW and Forever

At least now we can say this. Akshay is still giving 100,150 crore grossers while SRK is more or less out of race of Top 5 unless something magical happens.

Akshay is probably most relevant star in his age bracket.

Very well said..... While SRK is a superstar and will always remain one ..... Currently Akshay is ahead of him in Bo terms .....

As for choices of roles Akshay has variation, while SRK has just a couple different roles, rest all are romantic movies, so Akshay has a better filmography....... Acting department me both are one note actors...

is that even a Q..as of today..he is a much much bigger name and reliable superstar..no doubts whatsoever..shah is done as a lead actor..and the reason is simply coz he is the male madhuri..no reinvention whatsoever..nothing at all..doing a JHMS and doing same stuff you did 10 years ago..will lead to being complacent and that is exactly what happened

akshay totally reinvented himself..look at where he was and where the likes of srk were..he wasn't even in the league..he was with actors like suniel shetty..bobby doel..and now he is the #1 male superstar of the nation..wow!
