Fast & Furious Good Opening Day - Khandaani Shafakhana Very Dull

Fast & Furious - Hobbs & Shaw had a good opening as it collected around 11 crore nett on day one. The opening day was a little better than Spiderman - Far From Home and in the same range as The Lion King. The collections are the sixth best ever for a Hollywood film in India but they are less than a previous film of the franchise as Fast & Furious 7 had collected 12 crore nett plus in 2015.

The opening is good but considering its an action film and there is brand value for the franchise in India the initial could have been better as the genre does not tend to have legs. It is probably impossible for this film to go the The Lion King way despite having similar opening day numbers. the weekend should put up good enough numbers and then it will be about the public reports and how well it can go after.

The new Hindi film Khandaani Shafakhana is a dud as it collected 75 lakhs nett on day one. There is not much hope from this as the numbers are too low. Not that much was expected from the film anyway and the best it could have hoped for is 1 crore nett.

Five Hollywood films have managed to get into the top ten openings for Hollywood this year. They are Captain Marvel, Avengers - Endgame, Spiderman - Far From Home. the Lion King and now Fast & Furious - Hobbs & Shaw. The top ten opening days in India for Hollywood releases till date are as follows.
