I have a few friends who are Teleguites and yes they even told me no matter how much 'fun' they have drinking/dating, in the end they will marry who their family chooses and that is infact what has happened in the overwhelming majority. Within that cast and even being related is preferable. Can't generalize ofcourse but that's what I have seen.

Similarly I found it interesting that while BW's only representation of Tamilians is TamBram, when I visited Chennai, there was a hint of dislike towards brahmins and I was told that most of them are now settled outside.

@ bold its actually true. At the peak of dravidian movement Brahmins faced extreme violence and most moved out of the state fearing their safety. Those who stayed behind became atheist.

I don't know about Tamil Nadu .As it is a completely different language and culture but I can tell u about Andhra Pradesh(AP) and Telangana. Almost all the members from film industry belong to AP . AP was ruled by Britishers but Telangana was never under British control. AP people are comparitively richer than Telangana people. And I am not going to dig deeper into the history for the reasons of them being richer.

AP people talk way too politely but Telangana people can come across as funny or rude (Just like Hyderabadi Hindi. Vijay devarokonda is the perfect example of how Telangana people act) . If I have to choose the language which Telugu is closer to , it's Kannada. Telugu people do marry Kannadigans , who are same caste as them. I have too many Kannada speaking cousins.

It may be awkward but we do marry our cousins. We have this weird algorithm for who becomes brother and other bhava(male)/Mardalu(female). If you are a female/male and your father has a brother and a sister, You can marry your father's sister's son/daughter but bade Papa's son/daughter becomes your brother/sister

If your mother has a sister and a brother. Kids of your mother's sister become ur bro/sis. But, you can marry your mama's-Uncle's kids ( Jab thank tum ho mujey Marney Wala koi paidha nahi huwa mama 😆) .

(Father's sister's kids marriageable

Mother's brother's kids marriageable)

Even the movie stars follow the above algorithm.🤣

I don't know about caste but film industry cares about their sons getting married to a rich girl, who is not a heroine. I do think this is going to change soon.

Trisha is bonkers for Rana but his family disapproves her and thats why he did not marry her.

I do think it's the other way around. As she kept rejecting their affair and he looked miffed. Even in koffee with Karan , he looked depressed when Prabhas was poking his nose , where it's not needed. (Prabhas said he should go back to Trisha 🤣. Prabhas is nuts . Khaney ka alawa he doesn't care about other man's feelings).

But Trisha tho Trisha hey. She has Dhanush, Rana and that business man ( Who broke the engagement after her ex came to her wedding. 😆) . Pyar Karey tho kis kis ko karey.

Yep even in maharashtrians u can get married to your bua's or mama's kids...Not to masi and papa's brother kids.

But it used to happen in old times now it has been reduced..I think only in rural part this happens now

Even now it happens over here. I think as time passes by, it will reduce.

He did admit he is lazy which makes me wonder how did he work on his body for Bahubali and maintained it for so many years. Clearly the side effects can be seen now.

About arrgance and caste feelings is it the same with all the stars cus most do come from affluent families na?
