There was a movie in Telugu called Hippi.

It had RX100 hero in the movie. ( heard it’s being remade in Hindi)

Hero who is kissing his girl friend sees another girl and falls for her. I think this once scene is enough to say how much a crap it is.

Trust me they were guys whistling and enjoying the scene.

Any guy who says true love gives you the liberty to slap each other whenever you want is indefensible. And this is the thought process that has gone into Kabir Singh's glorification. He's shown as a hero because the director projects him as one and thinks nothing wrong of it. Like I said, in India if a movie is a huge success it says lot about the people watching it. The effect of cinema don't stay in the theatres. People are defending Kabir's actions and relating to him,sympathesizing with him as their hero and that's the problem. He's no hero. Not even a little bit. And furthering that, they are defending the man's thought process too. So this has gone way beyond the movie.

People who were always alpha and the so called ''stud'', will remain one, whether Kabir Singh happened or not, as the movie is based on them only. They will like KS, because it caters to them.

Majority who liked the movie, they liked it because the songs, the lyrics and love angle presented, not every one is going to concentrate on details, like Kabir Singh is a voilent person, they rather see him as a passionate lover. Yes that is a stupid way of seeing it, but it is what it is. We cannot pin point and everyone is misogynistic and is celebrating toxic masculinity, because many people don't see it that way. Do movie influence people?? Yes it does. But does it mean everyone who is influenced is soley influenced by that movie only?? No. Because that person might have been thr same from before, and just got drawn to a particular character.

Kabir Singh was a jerk, but for many he was a troubled and angry guy. Pin pointing those guys/gals and saying they are reason why India is down the drains is generalizing.

As for people defending Venga, lets analyze what kind of people are defending them, and what are the reasons. Are they fans of him or have the agenda of hating outspoken women?? Because we have seen fans defending their favorites even if they don't agree with the action.

How Swara was attacked when she questioned SLB, or how people attacked critics who questioned Sanju, or how people attack anyone who question Akki or Sallu or SRK or so on. Their are people who defend and attack for different reasons, we cannot pin point and say ya all defending him, because you all are equally screwed as him.

I know many who saw Kabir Singh as mere love story hence defending it, while some haven't even watched the movie but are defending it, because it gives them the chance to bash the ''feminists'' they hate them.

Venga is stupid with his view of passionate love, hence in the movie he was showing Preeti and Kabir slapping each other as if it is piece of cake, but than again I have seen real life couple who are abusive to each other at one moment and next they cuddle each other as if nothing happened. Venga must have been from that type of family or environment, hence he has such fcuked up view. Although I think he was triggered by criticism too to some extent, that he was trolling and insulting critics by doing the ''hai kiya toh kiya, mai ashi hi hu, kiya karogay''.

See in my overall opinion, people have different ways of watching, loving or hating any movie. The reasons for each maybe different for different people. We cannot pinpoint things and generalize it, because not everyone is going to analyze the whole movie in the same way and concentrate on issues like toxic masculinity, misogyny and abusive behavior. I personally saw it as a love story of a jerk and an equally stubborn girl, which IMO should have ended in tragedy.
