This is more disturbing than this assholes interview to me.
I don't think movies are just movies in the psyche of Indian men. It just feels a downer that Pink movie worked so hard to say women have a right to say no and be respected for it.
And here, we have regressed backwards, by saying women should have no say in how the other guy treats her in a relationship and should just accept whatever abuse comes along the way. It's Kabir prerogative to treat her the way he decides to and if in effect, he also had left her in the movie, that also would have been his right. Preeti should just stay mute and deal with it. She has to stay "pure" in marriage but Kabir has the right to go around looking for one-night stands. That is the true psyche of indian audience. that's the psyche of acid throwers too, 'how dare you say no to me. I will throw acid on your face, so you will suffer for it.'
I really wish Shahid had not done this movie. Samantha is perfectly right in her saying I may like a movie but I do not condone the character's behavior as correct.
