Although it would have collected more today, given Ranveer's rise as box office draw but it wouldn't have been a huge earned. As general WOM would have been, ''boring hai'', ''mai so gaya tha'' and so on.

And from the movies which you listed, only Badhai Ho did huge business, BKB hardly made 34-35 crores while Tumbadd also barely made 20 crores.

And main difference between those movies and Lootera is the treatment and pacing.

Badhai Ho was an entertaining desi movie, just its theme was odd, but its treatment was typical social comedy, and BKB was a modern day Saajan adaptation in small town canvas, and Tumbad was a horror/mythology. Plus they all despite some lacking pace, moved at a swift pace, compared to Lootera which was a very arthouse like product. Kindly like October.

I loved Lootera, beautifully shot, although painfully slow but worth it, nuanced acting, especially by Sonakshi and great music. But I don't see it being a box office success today.

I loved Lootera, but I don't think most of the people even today enjoy the slow paced movies.

You just can't say that. Gully Boy is a hit since it is a rrevolution. Lootera is a revolution as well since it is an artistic film. More than October. Pure art.

Also it is more simple than October. Also after Padmavat common people want to see Ranveer's movies.

Never liked it.

Second half has good photography , music is good and like the whole end and last leaf part the movie doesn't work/mesh together , first half is dull with it's snail pace ,it doenst go with the whole jibe ,only movie in which sonakshi was Decent , Ranveer was okay , he would do it better now with more experience, anyway a valiant effort .

Why shud he improve it when he already gave his best. He seemed an artist in the first half and a traitor in the 2nd and things were kept minimal and that is what is the charm of this movie. People are more accepting of this movies and now if it released ppl wud definitely have watched it more.

I love Lootera for three reasons: Motwane (he has a 100% record in my book), the music ( probably the only film where I can’t pick a favorite song....love all the songs and the lyrics is just incredible) and Sonakshi and Ranveer pairing. That scene where Ranveer tries to give injection to Sonakshi and then tries to pick the leaf and falls are two of my favorite scenes in film, history ever. I wish Motwane would make more movies. He is so amazing at execution.

I love this film so much I make sure I post on a Lootera thread every july! I watched it at the theater on a rainy night and had an early flight to catch the next morning. No regrets at all. It was such a lovely film. Never meant for the box office but for those it touched, it will always remain an eternal favorite.

Yes they are the scenes that stayed with me and i rem when i rem this film.

It has lot of metaphorical meanings and symbolisms that must have lost on regular audience at that time when they are used to watching masala films every day left and right.

Lootera wasn't a revolution, it was an excellent piece, but it hardly had any impact on how people made movies nor it left any impression on the pop culture.
