Kareena in Lal Singh Chaddha?

A decade after their acclaimed pairing in the comic-drama 3 Idiots (2009), Kareena Kapoor Khan and Aamir Khan are apparently set to join forces again for the latter's passion project, Lal Singh Chaddha. The Hindi remake of Tom Hanks 1994 hit Forrest Gump, we're told, will see Kareena Kapoor Khan play his love interest.

A source says, "The chemistry between the characters must be effortless. Aamir wants Kareena to play the part. She is in London till August, shooting for Angrezi Medium. She will make a pit stop in Mumbai next month for her TV commitments. The final call on the casting will be taken then."

Director Advait Chandan's offering goes on floors in October ahead of the shooting of Karan Johar's Takht, also featuring Kapoor.

Kareena would work better opposite Aamir compared to someone like Kriti (who was rumored also in the running)

Aamir Khan, also known as Mr. Perfectionist of Bollywood, has always strived hard to deliver good content-driven movies for the past few years. Even after his much-talked about and much-anticipated movie of 2018 Thugs of Hindostan did not fare well at the box-office; Aamir squared his shoulders and announced his next movie on his birthday this year. The movie is an official remake of Forrest Gump, which starred Tom Hanks, named Laal Singh Chaddha.

During an interview, on his 54th birthday when he announced his new project, Aamir was asked about the leading lady of the movie. Many people who have watched the original movie are wondering who would play the role of Jenny Curran, the girl that Forrest falls for hopelessly and unconditionally.

But Aamir being a conversationalist who says a lot without giving out much information refrained from talking about the leading lady. Instead, he spoke at length about how Secret Superstar director and his one-time assistant Advait Chandan was going to be the Captain of Chaddha's ship.

According to recent in.com reports, the leading lady of the movie will be the Khakra, Faafda, and Khandwa loving and the leading lady of 3 Idiots, Kareena Kapoor Khan. As per a close source, “The makers had 2-3 leading actresses in mind but eventually, they finalized Bebo.” The makers are yet to make an official announcement about the development.

Kareena Kapoor Khan is currently busy shooting for Angrezi Medium in London, will come back to India to shoot her dance reality show and then decide whether or not she will take up Lal Singh Chaddha.

On the work front, Kareena Kapoor Khan has a couple of projects lined up including Irrfan's Angrezi Medium, her dance reality show, and Karan Johar's Takht. Lal Singh Chaddha will go on floors in October this year and will release in 2020.
