Producers can do whatever they want to. That doesn’t mean I won’t call out them for their colourist casting.

U watch films on youtube and giving advice to Producers. Jio hai tho aajkal koi bhi gyan de sakta hai. 😆

A film on color discrimination by a filmmaker who made her heroine look several shades lighter than her real skin in Bajirao Mastani.😆

Right on point 👍🏼

What an irony SLB is the biggest hypocrite and fact distorter of bollywood. So which fair-skinned star he is going to cast in this and will blacken his/her face to show discrimination 😔

I have problem with all three. Whether dark skinned or light, get the appropriate color for the correct role instead of painting someone black or white to 'suit' the role. Changing akin color is not acting. There are several creative liberties taken in a feature film. Not changing the color of someone's face due to 'accuracy' can easily be one since they are definitely going to exaggerate parts that need more accuracy than something like a skin color.

Taking someone like Hrithik and painting him all black and dirty just to make him look like a Bihari is as bad as taking someone like Deepika and white washing her just to look like a Rajput. Especially in a time and industry where actors of all shades of colors are available.

U can have problem with that but u can't accuse him of colour discrimination.Thats called creative freedom. They don't choose actors based on their skin colour. That would be real colour discrimination. As a actor one has to adapt to the character .That's the power of actor be it's language it's look colour hair dress code .... Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't but that's not any kind of discrimination.

Well you can definitely be more polite..

Either way, the debate of if Maharashtra is north or south india is a never-ending one. Depends on the person's view.

Just let good actors do the right role.. this colorism is annoying from both extremes .. either from casting ONLY blacks in black story or white in white story.. or rajput in rajput story...

Make it about the character and their triial and tribulations.. pay less attention to the color of skin ( unless the movie adresses the issues of having diff skin color).

On Bhansali.. he is an artist.. some might love him some might not.

I enjoy his aestethics and unless he goes too OTT ( don;t want to see Lolitas from him) I'd rather watch his movies as they are aesthetically pleasing.

To each his own.

Curious to know more about this.
