Lol what? Have you seen Mastani's portraits? She was very fair skinned.

Metoo accuseds make feminist movies, naya kya hai?
Highway part 2 banake Alia ko dairymilk se nehlayenge kya? 😕
SLB likes to make anything controversial.
Black - Rani kissed AB
BM n Padmavathi - Hindu- Muslim forbidden angle.
Inshallah- as much age gap as a father and a daughter.
Some movie with PC about prostitutes.
This man is kinky in his choices.
Obviously it does work better that way. I think one of the reasons Bhansali casted her was because during that time DeepVeer were extremely popular as a couple after Ram-Leela's success. BM was supposed to be an epic romance so 2+2=4.
As for him getting DP's skin lightened, I hope you do have a problem with HR getting painted black for Super 30? Or Alia becoming super dusky for Udta Punjab? Does this mean the directors of these films are also racists?
These people are actors, it's part of their job to change change their physical appearance as per the requirements of the role...

Then take a fair skinned actress. Works better no that way?😆

I have problem with all three. Whether dark skinned or light, get the appropriate color for the correct role instead of painting someone black or white to 'suit' the role. Changing akin color is not acting. There are several creative liberties taken in a feature film. Not changing the color of someone's face due to 'accuracy' can easily be one since they are definitely going to exaggerate parts that need more accuracy than something like a skin color.
Taking someone like Hrithik and painting him all black and dirty just to make him look like a Bihari is as bad as taking someone like Deepika and white washing her just to look like a Rajput. Especially in a time and industry where actors of all shades of colors are available.
Not everyone has the features or stardom of Hrithik or Deepika. Just hving matching skin color is not enough. U cannot stop the creative choice or freedom of any actor or director or producer just bcoz they are of a skin color. That is real discrimination. U dont like it, dont watch it. Every actor shud hv the freedom to play a Bihari or a Kashmiri or South Indian and adapt his look accordingly. Else, nobody can play any role. All dark skinned actors can never play Punjabis. Raj Kumar Rao could never play Bose. Ben Kinglsey could never play Gandhi. Nawaz looked nothing like Thackeray. SRK was not a dwarf - they shud hv taken a real dwarf. Aamir looked nothing like a Phogat. Even Hrithik looked nothing like Akbar. Acting may not be about makeup. But, it is not a look-alike contest also.
The one with salman and Alia ?
While I think that DP was a terrible miscast in BM, her skin colour is the least of my problems. I get it why Bhansali did what he did because Mastani looked a certain way but I don't think he's racist because of that.
I agree, he could've easily taken an actress with a fair complexion but his reasons for casting DP were purely commercial it seems.
The same Bhansali also featured a dusky DP and an even more duskier Anupriya Goenka in Padmaavat. I also honestly don't think there's anything wrong with someone like Alia wanting to play a Bihari village girl in Udta Punjab.

I have always wondered about this classic Madonna song (La Isla Bonita). It's iconic and SLB copied it in Guzaarish. It is shameful that he used...
