Sadak was a 1991 romantic thriller, directed by Mahesh Bhatt, starring his daughter Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt. The director decided to return to films yet again for the remake of the same film and this time he will be making it with younger daughter Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur. The film also has Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt coming back on the screen together in pivotal roles.

The team wrapped up the first Mumbai schedule a few months ago and headed to Ooty where they shot for almost a month. Returning from the hill station, Alia went on to prep for Takht and Aditya got busy with Malang. The two were again spotted together on-location for another Mumbai schedule of Sadak 2.
