He's blatantly lying. Before this he always denied being a canadian. He spinned lies, made up stories that he is an honorary citizen. Now that its clear he cannot really hide it anymore and will be questioned frequently about it. He has come up with this letter jhol.

Why has this citizenship debate resurfaced?🤔

Anyhow, why not just give up the citizenship of the country you have not visited since seven years? Whats the point? Is the process complicated?

Tax reasons.

He says to Indians authoroties that he pays the big taxes in Canada and to Canadians that he pays taxes in india.

None checks with the other.. or -maybe, but don't think so-

checks if there is SOME fee paid.. As long as there is some.. they don;t really care.

Check artivcles on how Indians working in India but having Foreign Citizenship have been caught evading tax.

Poor Aki, PR mess. But considering so many of our citizen got called out on their patriotism and told to leave the country because they had a different opinion and don’t agree with some political opinions, this man ended up making a career out of the same dekhbhakti. Why would a rich, privileged man take a citizenship of a country which , he allegedly, rarely visits? Well, perhaps that is how Nirav Modi, Mallya and Choskis of our country operated. They too donated, made it to tax payers lists but we all know why they kept the other passport.
