nowadays its not about who is in the movie, its about if the story and script is good enough, its about whether the film can entertain the audience, and kalank was too long, boring and wasn't able to engage the audince, so no matter who was in it i think it wud have still gotten bad reviews and not done so well

Befikre was not hyped???.. LMAO... If Kalank was hyped as a period movie, Befikre was hyped as something about sexual awareness, sexual revolution and sexual liberation...And you are right... Ranveer's acting was no issue, it was good (for you) but his acting earned him the sobriquet ELECTROCUTED MONKEY FYI... So that must have been some Oscar-worthy acting, fosho..

Both the movies were hyped you see... only the content was different. BTW Befikre was made with the budget of 70 crores and made only 59 crores.

India's inflation was 4.5% in 2016, 3.6 in 2017 and 4.74 in 2018.So do the maths and arrive at inflation adjusted figure for 2019. Just a hint, it won't be 70 crores for sure...😆

Neutral viewers were not expecting Kalank to be a hit. Even the neutral members of the Forum found Kalank trailers/teasers underwhelming. There was no way it was going to be a hit. Perhaps you expected so, most didn't. Don't project your sensibilites as universal truth... Even if ticket prices are doubled and movie gets released in 8000 screens, it is still going to be a dud... FACT.

One flop versus another flop... quite comparable, IMO.

I have also mentioned XXX in my post... Please do some research on that too...

Well, there's average , below average flop and disasters.

LKike I've said.. if you really want to comparea movie from 2016, 60-70 cr budget Befikre taking 60-70 cr with a movie from 2019, 150 cr budget Kalank taking 60-70 cr , please do so.

But one will be a below average/flop and the other, Kalank, will be disaster.😆

Nothing will make me watch a movie just coz of the actors in it.

The story, trailer, should be unique and interesting enough to make me watch the movie

There are exceptions though for me which I follow

Any salman movie in the theater...a big NO

No Karan Johar Movie in the theater for me ...no way

Apart from these 2 exceptions, stars dont matter for me

Irrespective of the names given - below average, flop or a disaster, the implication is the same : the movie did not recover the making cost... just the scale of losing money is different... So Befikre, a flop and Kalank a disaster both imply that these movies fail to recover making cost, let alone earn profit... No difference in terms of their inability to fetch return on investment.

@ Bold : Befikre was released in December 2016, Kalank in April 2019. There is not even two and a half year gap between the release of these two movies...Befikre was not released in 2009 for being incomparable to a 2019 released movie..😆

The verdict of Befikre is flop... any wistfulness cannot make it below average. Kalank is a disaster for sure... noone is even denying it.

A flop released less than 2 and a half year back versus a disaster released currently... Both unable to recover their investment...

Same difference...
