If about Kalank I don't know if mediocre but definitely the best characters are Varun Alia.

Varun Alia k ilawa no one is this movie is going through a good phase... Everyone is coming from flops and one more flop will do them no harm😆

Varun Alia havent had a major flop for a while so this one flopping would not derail their career either..

So ya.. not Kalank😆

I think the script has the 70s or 80s feel to it because it was conceptualized by Yash Johar.

It's also the same old Hindu/Muslim story which we've seen a 1000 times before and was prevalent during that era. The only difference between this and those films is that it's made on a much grander scale.

Hence, the film's script seems mediocre compared to present standards.

Exactly others (ARK-Sona) aren't doing well at all, so how would an ensemble affect their career in anyway be it +ve or -ve? Madhuri is too big of a star to have her career on stake coz of a multistarrer, Sanju again will be least affected either positively or -vely, Aloo has too many films & Dharma cushioning to take the fall in anyway, its mainly Varun who is leading the promotions from the front & hasn't signed anything significant.😆 But still have plenty of goodwill to survive anything untowardly

This has to be Panipat since Ashutosh, Arjun, even Sanju all have nothing post that, Kriti being the "face" of film wil take the fall & might disappear after 2-3 flower pot roles post such a big film's failure...

^ even I think it is Panipat, because the blind is of last year when kriti didn't had any super hit.

So makes sense that everyone's career is at stake.

The fact that Karan directed this film through Whatsapp, has included songs like 'First Class' which may have not been a term used for the period its set and made Madhuri stand like a statue in a dance song shows he hasn't thought things through very well. Also isn't Kalank a fictional script so the pressure to see it through with a large starcast is going to be his acid test.

Also it ties in with what that 'catty actress' said a week or two ago about Varun Alia having the meatiest roles..

Panipat is a slice of history film so unless Gowariker is doing something completely different or rewriting history I don't get how the script could be mediocre..his treatment of the film and his direction yes but i doubt its the script here.
