Does IF fail to recognize how big Padmavat and Sanju were??

While technically neither were masterpieces.
I see this general disdain towards them in the forum as if they weren't huge blockbusters which ruled theaters all over the nation.
So what is the reason?
Fan wars or the general lack of knowledge about ground level from the NRI heavy forum(note this line isn't to insult anyone who isn't residing in India, because just like it is natural and logical you don't get the domestic general feel about here, same way I don't know what is happening in US/UK/Canada/whichever place you reside).
Or them flopping in television is the major reason??

Who underrates them? Ranbir and Deepveer fans keep gloating about it. Ab non-fans toh will not hype them na.

non-fans don't even acknowledge how big these movies were.
Which is silly.
Like you don't have to be an Aamir fan to know that Dangal, PK and so on, Sallu fan to know that TZH, BB and so on were huge hits.

Sanju and Padmavat were both humongous hits, but acknowledgement seems too low.

I went to India in June. Ghoomar was still the most danced & performed song by anyone and everyone.

NRI sure downplays what is big in India. Reality ka humko pata nahi aur hum kud padte hai ainvayi. Jese kafi ABCDs kud pade hai Indian politics ka majak udane. Inhe ground level pe jo kaam hota hai isse nada nulla farak ni penda. 😆

NRIs se yaad aaya, Padmaavat is the 2nd highest grossing Hindi film overseas after Dangal and the highest if we exclude China.

I think controversies also played a role.. Its easy to credit the controversies surrounding the movie to their success... TZH and Dangal type movies did not have that.. So maybe some believe that the movies succeeded because of the controversies and thus do not warrant much hype?

I don't think the majority of forum doesn't realise how big they were.
Maybe trolls trying to switch it? And most saying why they didn't liek one or other( some genuinely, some not so).
Just RK fans ( and some other fandoms) wants to put RS down by clkaiming the movie wasn't that great or big or whatever reason, and some Rs fans ( and other fandoms) flame the fires back saying Sanju was pushed.
But I am pretty sure most acknowledge that those two movies were the biggest hits of last year.

No controversy can bring movie close to 300 crores.

Padma didn't release in Gujarat. Some travel guy started a Bus from Surat (City in Guj) to Mumbai (City in Maharashtra, another state). Bus mein le jake. Padma dikhake. Lunch included and gets you back in a day. 😆

Padma would have been highest grossing movie of 2018 if released in Gujarat. Are mera state SLB ka pakka deewana hai. One of my Aunt watched Devdas thrice in theater to see Paro's jewelry.🤣 Aise to kai log hai.
