Barfi! Is seven years old. Gully Boy is still in theatres. It is still fresh in people's mind. Too soon to compare.

As a movie gully boy .
But performace wise barfi both rk and pc were brilliant. Barfi was good but the storyline was a bit weak , i only watch the movie for the jhilmil - barfi's love story and their acting performance. On the other hand gully boy had a better storyline and direction . I enjoyed gully boy as a movie more .

It's not inspired by 8 Mile. It's inspired by the real life stories of Divine and Naezy, who rose from the slums with their talent and made it.

I feel like Barfi was a better movie for all that it did but personally loved Gully boy more. There wasn't a single second in Gully boy that bored me. Zoya and Reema can tell human stories better than anyone. Barfi on the other hand is a piece of art. Ranbir was incredible in the movie.

Did not like Barfi. Ranbir was great though. If both movies are put in comparison, GB is more my type of movie. More relatable. More humane. Barfi is like lala-land. 🤔

Not that these two are in any way in the same league of the movies I'm going to mention as examples 😆 but its like comparing Titanic with the Godfather lol. Apples and Oranges.

These two movies are so far apart in styles and genres that the stories too cant help the comparison. BUT you know how in the Godfather there is no weak link? Also there is no scene that's unnecessary nothing exaggerated and everyone plays their parts well, too well. Gullyboy has that strain of a terrific ensemble cast that drives the movie just not Murad and that automatically makes it superior technically. Also Barfi is plagiarised in parts which disqualifies it entirely in my opinion as a movie.

Acting wise though Priyanka trumps Ranbir and Ranveer and whoever else. Jhilmil over Barfi and Murad. She brought such soul to Jhilmil that i didn't even mind the obvious flaws in her track and story. What a sparkling performance. From the hand movements to the noises. I watched Barfi in a NGO surrounded by autistic children who were so delighted and happy with Jhilmil I can't tell you enough. It was magical.
