While playing an acid attack survivor is definitely risky for a mainstream actress, that doesn't mean Deepika will also give a great performance. Infact I doubt the caliber of DP to play this role. Sonam also tried doing a milestone role by playing a lesbian, but the movie flopped and she didn't get much praise either.

Sonam didn't even act in that movie.

God, I'm tired of seeing her one stoic expression that she had throughout BM and Padmaavat.

She's very overrated imo.

What is so special about acid attack survivor role ? only make up will be different otherwise she has to only act convincing in it which should be the case with every other role .

Well personally I find Laxmi very inspiring. Have you seen her???

If biopics can be made on drug addict traitor like Sanju then why not laxmi.

Movie will be about her journey, how she overcame the tragedy and faced society.

Nothing pathbreaking will happen unless there's a vast improvement in her dialogue delivery & rehearsed expressions. Tbh, DP has been lucky to get all these roles due to box office pull otherwise her acting remains average.
