Deepika is all set to take a big risk with Chapaak, by playing the role of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. That means, she will be shorn of all glamour and good looks, and will be in a different avtar altogether. Di you think audiences are ready to see a disfigured Deepika when they have always seen her in glamorous roles?

Also, do you think this film will be a milestone for Deepika performance-wise? After all, it is the role of a lifetime.

I think it will do wonders for her career, but I am not sure about the commercial success of such a film.

Story aur execution achi hai toh picture hit hai. Yahi do cheezein matter karti hain along with acting, editing and the likes.

If the movie doesn't cross 200 crores then it's gadhe pe bitha ke mooh kala karne wali baat for Deepika because claims were made that she's a bigger star than even the Khans . 😆

There's a difference between role being milestone and the performance being milestone. While playing an acid attack survivor is definitely risky for a mainstream actress, that doesn't mean Deepika will also give a great performance. Infact I doubt the caliber of DP to play this role. Sonam also tried doing a milestone role by playing a lesbian, but the movie flopped and she didn't get much praise either.

As an actress if she can bring even a lil bit of authenticity in the role then thats a win. A milestone for sure. Its such a hard role though and needs proper research. I hope more than anything she does that. Without research one cant be sincere in a role like this.

The subject matter is so risky and definitely no adornments can be used in a script like this to make it 'commercial'. Its a good thing. I am more worried about the audience willing to go watch something that's not feel-good and something so heavy. Fingers crossed. Hope mainstream audience is ready for this.

This is probably the first time Deepika is not doing a typical Bollywood leading lady role. Could be very successful

Risky movie with no ,whatsoever, commercials elements.
I can see deepika haters already comparing it to figures of other actresses much more commercials ventures...

It could be but it depends on deepika especially her biggest asset her beautiness won't be a main attraction in this movie which compensated her flaws .
A lot depends on her dialogue delivery and we know that's not her biggest strengths so hopefully she works on that part. If she nails that than it will definetely be her career best no matter what BO numbers will be.
