I know that, I said if the movies had A listers, the budget would have turned 20cr more, and 65cr is a big budget for A listers rom coms.
So URI is not a small movie from any angle.

Uri - The Surgical Strike Beats Bahubali 2 On Fourth Saturday
Sunday 03 February 2019 12.00 IST
Box Office India Trade Network

Uri - The Surgical Strike is setting the box office ablaze as it collected 6.25 crore nett on its fourth Saturday which is an ALL TIME RECORD as it edged past Bahubali - The Conclusion which grossed 6.20 crore nett. It is not a record in GROSS numbers but just to be around Bahubali - The Conclusion is a big achievement. The highest outright Hindi film is 3 idiots at 3.90 crore nett and Uri - The Surgical Strike is 60% better than that. When any Bahubali - The Conclusion record is broken it means the film has done something special.

The film is breaking records now of all outright Hindi films and is unstoppable at the box office. the film has topped 180 crore nett and the 200 crore nett mark will probably be hit next weekend and even then the film will have some legs. The growth on Saturday was a huge 90% with South India giving huge performance and with more prints than week one in some South circuits.

The collections of Uri - The Surgical Strike are as follows.

Week One - 71,23,00,000

Week Two - 62,76,00,000

Week Three - 37,06,00,000

Friday - 3,25,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 6,25,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 1,80,23,00,000 apprx

The film could beat the business of Golmaal Again and you cannot rule out the film going past Chennai Express and Kick as well in terms of NETT collections. The GROSS collections will be far less than those films.

Even historicals if u see ..BM padmavat were huge successes but mohenjodaro was huge flop ..manikarnika verdict we might know clearly after 2 weeks but in all possibility it will get avg tag ,max semi hit tag ..

In the end a good product will work whether historical or patriotic ..Producers should not chase trends ..rather chase a good subject and mk movie on it ..

I am quoting this for truth.👏
If a movie with historical flavour is not done well no matter what promo you do it will not work.
Some producers have taken a beating at the BO last year- and it seems some are this year too- because they are overstepping their place.

A good story and a good director paired with a good actor- whether historical or patriotic or such- will always win over some half baked story where the patriotic flavour is opushed to the detriment of the story. Manikarnika will not recover costs..that producer should stop meddling in the artistic process.,

Uri worked (added some crores to its BO ) because the patriotic feeling but also because the story/directing/acting was good , otherwise it wouldn't sustain.

Make all the patriotic movies you like... if the story is bad, direction is messy and just one actor is good and the rest of movie is all over the place.. then you get bad results.
Public is not as easily fooled nowadays (as they might have been before) that they'd swallow anything in the name of nationalistic pride.

Just recently a patriotic movie was released by Jp dutta ..dont remember the name but it flopped badly ..so yeah a movie has to b good and most imp should connect with viewers or else it wont work ..

That makes no sense. If it had a listers then it would have had bigger budget thus making it a big budget film but right now it doesn't

Right now it has small actors with total budget of 45cr thus making it a medium budget film

Uri - The Surgical Strike is having a crazy trend in the the South. The film did not do so well in the first week as they had their local films but it has sustained phenomenally well. Below are the figures from Nizam / Andhra, Mysore and Tamil Nadu / Kerala and they pretty much tell the story.

Nizam / Andhra

Week One - 1,90,00,000

Week Two - 3,48,00,000

Week Three - 2,32,00,000

TOTAL - 7,70,00,000

Mysore

Week One - 3,43,00,000

Week Two - 5,47,00,000

Week Three - 4,15,00,000

TOTAL - 13,05,00,000

Tamil Nadu / Kerala

Week One - 54,00,000

Week Two - 1,14,00,000

Week Three - 1,45,00,000

TOTAL - 3,13,00,000

Tamil Nadu / Kerala has seen a rise every week with an increase of theatres. The third week figure in Mysore is the highest ever in the circuit in the third week. It beat Dangal the previous record holder by a margin to set an ALL TIME RECORD and it will be a repeat in week four. The top third week collections ever in Mysore circuit are as follows.

2. Dangal - 2,96,00,000
