Padma Awards announced: Mohanlal, Kader Khan, Manoj Bajpayee, Prabhudheva honoured

The Government of India announced the Padma awards today. Five time National Award winner Mohanlal has been honoured with the Padma Bhushan.

Veteran writer-actor Kader Khan has been conferred with the Padma Shri posthumously. Manoj Bajpayee and Prabhudheva have also been given the Padma Shri. From the field of Bollywood music, Telugu movie lyricist Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry, singer- composer Shankar Mahadevan and well-known percussionist Sivamani have also been honoured.

Veteran singer-composer Dr. Bhupen Hazarika has been honoured with the highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna posthumously.

Congrats! Well deserved.

How I wish Kader was recognized when he was alive!

Why do these institutions only remember the value of the artist after the death?🤓 🥱

What? Khadar Khan is getting Padma Shree, that too now posthumously?Shame on them for stealing such a joy from such a talented and well deserving artist! 👎🏼

Sirivennela getting Padma Shree now? He should've gotten it years ago...Now he should be getting the Vibhushan...
