and it's CELEBRATIONS time 🥳

after all hue and cry by dir Krish, u would think that there's a lot of tampering done to the project but there isn't..the film runs smoothly. infact even the role of Kashi Bai played by Mishti is effective, I don't have an idea what's the fuss she's making. she looked gorgeous and acted well ditto for Ankita, despite limited screen space she rocked the show..

The veterans are superb as always - kulbushan kharbanda Danny Denzongpa (he's tailor made for such roles) Suresh Oberoi Suparn Verma (Rajmata) Atul Kulkarni are just fabulous. also make a special note for Jisshu Sengupta who has been sidelined by Critics. he's absolute fab as Gangadhar Rao. his chemistry with Kangana is simply superb, watch his last scene where he asks her to become the manikarnika he once saw flying and break the barriers.

music by Shankar Ehsaan Loy is 10/10 not a single track seems boring - its melodious, inspiring, arousing...a complete patriotic album

and finally coming to Kangana, she is beyond superb - Considering Rani Lakshmi Bai is such an Iconic figure of bravery, courage and valor let's not forget her life was nothing short of a tragedy in such a tender age she lost her mother her husband her child and ultimately lost her life for motherland but her bravery made her soul immortal and Kangana brought every bit of it to life..honestly you can just go and go in praising her but then she deserves it.

having said all this, let's also be prepared for the fact that Manikarnika despite all the success n adulation from fans and over the world shall be snubbed at all award functions next year..the only hope is national award. I hope Fan clubs across all social media should keep the praise level for the film for the whole year atleast and not let it down.

My Rating would be 4.5/5 i'm deducting .5 marks because they either edited out or didn't shoot a fight scene or two in which Rani Lakshmi Bai defeats the English on 1st day of her attack, this is what we have read in text books and also its shown in old Jhansi Ki Rani movie as well...but that's ok i think that would have increased the runtime of the film...

I' feel extremely happy and proud to be brought up on the same soil that belongs to Manikarnika ! ⭐️

beautiful review...

now i am aroused to watch the old JHANSI KI RANI..the patriotic inside me has risen big time LOL 😆

@ImagineMe : That's really sweet of her to acknowledge fan's contribution. And really salute to the fans who have made this possible ! 👏

btw folks ever since MANIKARNIKA have u all noticed that there have been so many videos going rounds on Rani's death..but none of them seems to be holding on one line.
I have even read that even Britishers couldn't verify how Rani ultimately died because her body was never found, some said that villagers burnt her as she wished, some even said that she was alive and was living in disguise of a villager...

the death of hers seems to be as mysterious which also adds to her legend...

coming to Manikarnika, i really hope to catch it one more time this weekend if it stays there in theaters. come what the price..it has amazing repeat value and everyone should go watch it again n again

Yes her death is a mystery. The circumstances are laid out differently and this is where cinematic liberty was taken after consulting the historians.

This movie showed her as an incarnation of Durga hence the depiction the way it was towards end with the Om shaped line of fire.

Hope you get to catch it again else will have to wait until digital/satellite release.

And yes... i enjoyed it more in my second viewing. Looking forward to the third.

well , did you read the archived letters of Gen Hugh Rose, he said in his letter that a soldier killed Rani in the battle field . That was what he mentioned in his letter.
Most likely that's what happened. She was killed by a British soldier but then her body wasnt found, it was either burnt or cremated is a mystery

but many sources also said that soldier mortally wounded her and instead killed by the counter attack by rani and she fled from there with her unconcious state
her body was either burnt by villagers or cremated remains a mystery. but the thing which is evident that she was not killed at the battle field itself because if she was, she would have been captured by the british army.

i know they have taken the creative liberty for the ending which i liked the only thing they felt they could have just shown in the ending titles how her death really inspired the battle of freedom...like how did in mangal pandey but they just settled with following the events after the death ending the legacy with the death of her son

In case anyone interested to read about the last moments of RLB:

There is a brief description of what happened after she was fatally injured (Queen of Jhansi by Mahashweta Devi : first published around 1957). The book is not known to be a work of fiction, it is mostly the information collected by the author from the living members of RLB/Tambe family (as per Author's own words; some of them were still alive whom she met/interviewed personally) as well as other authentic sources. According to this book the last rites were performed by some of her trusted companions who found her right before she passed away. As per her last wish they not only did not let the British touch her body but also took care of Damodar Rao. The inscription on the monument in front of Phoolbagh Palace, Gwalior apparently says:

"This monument marks the site of cremation of the illustrious and heroic Maharani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi, who fell in a battle in the Sepoy War of 1857-58.

Born at Benares on Nov. 19, 1835 A.D. Died at Gwalior on June 18, 1858.

The monument was conserved by the Gwalior Archaeological Department in 1929 A.D. during the reign of H. H. The Maharaja Jivaji Rao Scindia Alijah Bahadur of Gwalior."

Read it long time ago and absolutely loved this book...a handwritten note by RLB's grandson Laxaman Rao Jhansiwala (as they have been known after they moved from Jhansi) is attached in the beginning

I liked the movie too inspite of some obvious shortcomings ... happy to see it doing well at BO 😊
