Jokes aside actually on second thoughts it was not some classic like people made it out to be. It was good but not that great also.

The same was the case with Badlapur made by the same filmmaker which was hyped so much.

Nothing has come close to the epicness of Ek Hasina Thi amongst all these films.

andha dhun was ok but certainly overrated... his johnny gaddar was amazing n his best work so far..

I liked it, it's certainly better than most of the crap BW doles out on the regular. Has nice music and interesting scenes. But imo it wasn't the best movie of 2018, for me the best movie was Stree.

I haven't watched Jhonny Gaddar actually. Heard so much about it though. For some reason can't stand Nitin Mukesh at all.

Movie is good and I found it also a good one, ... but now when I am looking around and ppl want to trend it as Movie of the year and that much hit,... which I do not quite agree.

The holding scenes are,... when a guy is watching everything the murder ,...and still he pretends like Blind and vice versa, is a holding scenario... but again,...
In Movie Yaaraana somewhere Amitabh plays a as a Mentally suffered among other mental ,..
In Movie Parvarish also amitabh/Vinod also tricks as a blind man...

and such kinda story has come earlier,...
.
Movie is good, but do not trend it as Movie of the year, as it is NOT. IMHO.

First half was fantastic , 2nd half was a big let down
ending was confusing

but overall a good thriller

Johny Gaddar was fantastic and neil was brilliant in it so were the rest of the cast

For me the best thriller last year was Tamil movie Ratchasan, well made and gruesome who done it serial killer

best one seen last year

I wish Bollywood explores the genre of thrillers

No. 1.

Ayushyaman is a dwarf and kinda dedh-footiya body-structure... and that also lets him down many a times despite of nyc story and direction and his own super-acting,...and film gets only a Hiitizim, which it should had easily reached super-hittizm. So,... that drawback remains in this one too,
Badhayi ho ( perhaps OK here, as a role of house teen-ager )

... and it seems exactly like, in Padmavat, how ridiculous it looks when an " isam-bagool / Chipmunk " like Shahid was fighting with a Beast size alladdin,...
as Shahid's body-structure and his Sassa ( rabbit ) like face-look was no where a match,... for Raja Ratansingh's expected height, body n' personality what it SHOULD have,.. ! No ?

No. 2

I would say,...Watch some movies like " A Cuckoo flew over the nest " and this movie will look quite average, of its story,..

Tip from personal experience-

Never watch a hyped film in a laptop/TV. Only in theatre.

And if TV/Laptop is the only option, bring down expectations by 50%

The ambience and environment of a theatre and audience reaction has a huge impact on the euphoria around such films which one will not find at home.

That's a movie that needs to be watched in a theater where you are able to give it a complete undistracted attention...I loved it but I can say that if I watched it at home, my reaction would be pretty much the same as yours TM!

^^ I little bit beg to differ here,... as now a days, the way Movies are made, ... ( joining which scene where,... no idea,...and running two stories at the same time ,.. e,g, Piggy's Quantiico ) .you need to rewind few scenes, smtms after watching full movie,... have to view few scenes/ beginning once again, ...many a times few dialects spoken are not clear, so have to rewind,... and many such other interruptions,.. so I always prefer at home comfort,...

Agree. I - candy ( eye-treat ) movie like Avatar / Mowgli / Starwars / Nemo / Dinosaurs has nthg to lose you can even take 3 min nap and can join back on the theater screen,... so go for theater,..

For a remedy,..
I prefer,.. not to watch low quality print. Either buy / rent a good dvd or watch on Netflix / amazon / hotstar ( reputable paid sites ) and quit other home-made personal blog-sites ( apna movies, .. etc ) full of viruses and lower quality,... . Also, prefer tieing yr laptop to a smart TV,... or have a 27"+ Good make, PC monitor with a1200+ pixel capacity...( which I do ) .

I just watched Mission Impossible - Fall out ( org DVD ) and had to rewind couple of flights and chases, so glad that , I did not see in theater,..

That's why films should be watched in theatres without any interruption or fast forward and rewind. Filmmaking in itself is very tricky. No one knows what works and what doesn't. So a lot of tricks are used to hide the imperfections in the storyline and present it in a way that the flow is smooth. When you pause or rewind, you not only break the flow of the film and the story that's remaining but you also get to see the imperfections hidden which impacts the viewing experience in the mind. You might have got that scene right in it's second viewing but the viewing pattern is hampered.

I mean obviously at the end of the day it's a personal choice but cinema and films are made with the intent of being watched together as a whole without any breaks instead of pause and rewind. I think it's also about our attention span these days which is becoming shorter and shorter with every passing year.
