He probably was trying to see her page to see pictures of Jaan and only later realized his finger accidentally touched the follow button. I can only imagine the look on his face when he realized oh god. When Jaan becomes an adult he probably will want to meet Aamir who is said to be his bio dad, but I don't know if Aamir will want to.

How could he check a private account?. For private accounts one needs the send request first to become a follower.
