Anushka had a dumb moment towards the end when Masand said who would you kill to play ..she said, no no, I wouldn't like to kill anyone 🤣
It was an okay watch actually. I don't understand why they were so competitive to speak. It's just an interview, who cares ? I thought they must be tired of getting interviewed all the time. I didn't like all the cutting each other to talk. This way I thought Deepika and Tabu were the best and only spoke when they weren't cutting anyone. Also, Masand needs to direct the questions to specific people to start the conversation so that everyone gets a chance to speak.

Rani cut people off way too many times and seems like a bad listener and so for me she's the loser of the roundtable. Loser with really pretty eyes. Also, her Me Too comment was misguided. I wish somebody could've been more assertive with telling her where she went wrong. Anu, Deepika and Alia tried but she still kept saying whatever she was and it was irritating.

Anushka and Alia spoke well. Taapsee seemed a bit OTT to me. Or maybe I didn't like her points that much. If I were to choose one, I'd say Anushka was the winner for me in this roundtable. Why I'm saying winner an loser is because it was clearly a competition 😆

Anushka also looked the prettiest. Alia looked cute too. Deepika looked nice but I wish she wore something else.

Who is giving those men agency of our bodies. Why would responsibility fall on the woman but the men get 'they do it theres no way out' pass.

When did i say men should'nt change or we shouldn't stop the men? Of course we should. Are we successful but? Nirbhaya case was such an uproar. But what happened in the many years that followed. Rape cases stopped? Still a rape happens almost every hour in this country.
Men don't change their behaviours, its a fact which is rather unfortunate. Self defence is actually of prime importance if we want these incidents to reduce.
Getting men to stop is actually an uphill climb..unless strict laws are made or something that really freaks men out that they don't even look at u lustfully they WILL NOT change. They don't fear repercussions that is a fact in most places. They think they can pressurise the victim into keeping quiet or giving in to them. So for that, women need to stand up for themselves n say a no first.

Rani was super annoying followed by the other two. Deepika and Tabu were mostly quiet and spoke only when spoken to.

Also,Men (referring to the roundtable) had better views on MeToo than women.

Totally. Ironical and sad.

Content is doing well... but these women are the best we have I'd say we should be worried p 😆

Why? They are actors. They don't need to be intelligent.

I agree. Sexual harrassment happens everywhere n not just BW and there are so many guys who get away with it. U cannot really stop the men but u can learn to defend urself n say no. It is not to easy to nip it in the bud. Unless every victim comes out with their story and the perpetrators get punished everywhere n everytime doubt any change will happen.

Martial arts training, or some sort of self defence training should be instituted in schools for girls and this personality development should start from school itself. Also atleast then the guy will think twice before doing it to other women.

I don't think she was victim shaming, she was trying to say that women should be self sufficient in looking after themselves and not dependent on anyone for anything.

But Rani was surely annoying in the rest of the Roundtable. Constantly cutting into everyone else's points, not letting others speak 🥱

This is like saying if you get robbed on the road at night, it's your fault. Sure, you could've been more careful, there are precautions to take but the "fault" lies with the robber. In this case, the sexual harasser. No need to shift the blame on women which is what is happening if you say you should be strong enough to fight back.

what??
Every human being needs to be intelligent including actors.
By intelligent I don't mean able to solve trigonometry equations and all, but smart enough to put their views across in a comprehensive manner.

Tabu is the smartest of the all- she chose to sit quiet knowing very well that your point is not gonna be heard in this chaos...

Rani's POV on the MeToo movement... my gawd..🥱😆
For the uninitiated, she is very much stuck in her character from Mardaani who also had a similar advice to share- strengthen women so that they can defend themselves from men.
Well Rani, its easier said that done, especially when several men gang up against a woman and assault her. We live in this world, not some movie set where dishoom dishoom can make people fly across the room. Such a silly line of thinking..

The roundtable was average... at one point everyone was just butting into each other's speech and I just gave up trying to make sense of whatever they were trying to say.

A few points:

1. Padmaavat's Jauhar scene to me was neither glorification of outdated traditions nor regressive. What it was for me was tragedy...and an immense tragedy at that...seeing Rajputi women of all ages end their lives in such a painful way has really stuck with me, for the scale of the disaster that it was... People and media nowadays forget that historical films dont exist to teach people right or wrong.. they exist to also depict extraordinary events that may at times be unfathomable or unreasonable to us living in the 21st century.

2. Whats that commercial film Tapsee rejected because the women had little to do in it? Sanju? Thats the only one that fits her description from all 2018 releases. Awkward seeing her speak like that, with Anushka, one of Sanju's many side characters sitting just next to her.

No. I don't think so. Nobody needs to be anything. Especially actors. And that person was saying if this is the best we have, then we should be worried. In that context especially, it shouldn't matter. Those are the best actors we have. They are doing their job well. They don't have to be articulate or smart or well informed, which is what intelligence would mean here, to be good actors. We don't have to be worried about this. Only in one aspect would this be valid, that many gullible people follow them and their words. But acc to me, people shouldn't look up to actors personally anyway. Not in the way that they would follow their opinions. It's their own fault for doing that.

Fighting back is better than getting raped. What ur saying is badi badi baatein. A practical solution is what is needed if u really want change. U can go out n find out about how many women are sexually harrassed and fight their cases and get all the men punished, practical is it?
IF pe baatein karne se kuch nahi hoga. If women want to not be harrassed, they should protect themselves as much as they can. And I have nowhere shifted the blame on women, if ur comprehension skills are poor, its not really my problem u know. Also never said the sexual harrasser is not at fault.
