Honestly I don't know how to begin or where to begin. Today when I left the theatre looking at my parents who were happily discussing the film and was repeating the lines, it made me feel like a proud fangirl. My parents are not that much into BW so for them, knowing and recognising Veer is a huge thing! They know a selected few Bollywood celebs only. And I'm so happy that after SRK, it's Veer whom they currently like! Earlier they used to call him that boyfriend of Deepika. Today they know him as Ranveer Singh and I really cannot be more proud. That itself shows how much of an impact this guy has made and how much he has grown as a star! Ranveer is a SUPERSTAR dammit! And Simmba has only sealed the deal for him. I don't care what others think, but 2018 truly belongs to this gem!! His hard work has paid off and I can't be happier for him! He truly deserves all the adulation. I'm grateful to Veer for giving us reasons to continue adoring him. He is literally goals be it offscreen or onscreen! I'm astonished that this guy did a Khilji/Rao and Varun and Bittoo before. To him and whoever thought he should be in BW, a million thanks for making him part of this industry. I went in with quite high expectations and I'm totally not disappointed. Veer as Simmba is exactly him in real life! So OTT but so adorable that you want to break into screens and pull his cheeks. I have said before that shy Veer is a blessing to watch! He was so so so adorable when he got so jealous of the heroine's friend. I know a lot of people loved the first half but I actually liked the second half more. I don't know why. I know I sound like a biased fangirl but the best part of Simmba was Veer and only him. He was so so so good!! Ofcourse it's not like the film is so perfect. It's not! There are some cringeworthy moments too. And Sara really wasn't needed in the film. Not surprised cos I have seen temper and even there the heroine wasn't needed. The constant she was raped dialogues was off putting. Maybe the film was meant to showcase Veer as a masala star, so other characters and actors really couldn't steal the show. Somehow I can't see Rana as the good cop. I still see him as the villain from Dushman/Sangharsh. But him and Veer chemistry was awesome! The other guy was also good. Again Sara was not needed and I also don't think she impressed like others have been raving about. She reminded me of Parineeti somehow. Sonu was hot but there is nothing extraordinary in his performance. There are some liners that's whatsapp status worthy, like tell me something I don't know and mind ijj blowing! Also I loved loved loved when Simmba sang mohile mohile tujhe bina main kaise piyu(idk if I spelled it right). The technical aspects of the film was decent. I never got the hype of Ankh Maarey song until I saw it on big screen. The remix is good and the song is good. Veer was superb! Just wished it was another actress dancing with him. I felt Sara was too short and clumsy that couldn't match his energy at all. The songs were all good onscreen. The best was the BGM. It matched the heaviness of a Masala film. Overall, I have to say it came out the way it was set out to be, a MASALA film. A commercial film which has all the boxes ticked meant for a masala film. They didn't try to sell the film as something and come out something else. For that, I'm thankful! I really loved Chennai Express the most from Rohit Shetty films and Simmba is even better! And while the credits was rolling, the first thought came to mind was a wish that Rohit MUST and DEFINITELT MUST make a spin off of Simmba and Meenamma. Trust me they will be perfect match as two goofballs! Ajay and Akki's cameos were good and I realised how grossly ignored is Ajay Devgan in BW cinema. I mean people are arguing over RK RS Tiger SRK Salman Aamir and so on. But forgot Ajay Devgan. That guy has solid screen presence and has his films opening so strongly. He needs to be acknowledged man! A huge thanks to Simmba team for giving a solid entertainer to end the year on a high note. Biggest thanks to our man Veer, for working and working and never giving up despite having so many people ready to pull him down. GB him always! Love love love him!!

Best : Veer, Veer, VEER
Good : Music, BGM, action sequences AND cameos
Bad : Sara, Storyline

4/5 stars for me!!!

A week back?even now I am not able to believe it..😆...This seems unreal! That's why I am really curious to hear from Rohit Shetty how he is taking all this in...Poor guy has been a favorite punching bag for the critics until Simmba happened...I want to know, if he expected this kind of universal approval for one of this movies ever! :)

Rohit's instagram post sums up his feelings aptly. A picture of him with the cast with the caption we have arrived and the names of all the critics who gave 3- 4 star.

Yesterday he posted all the good reviews the movie got on insta story.

Clearly the man is overwhelmed. An interview with him would be a treat. I hope someone interviews him. A couple of years back he called out the critics for bashing masala movies on Film companion. I hope Anupama interview him again after Simmba's box office run.

Just now he posted this.

I watched a couple of his pre-release interviews...The man came across as humble and sorted...He has no airs about the kind of films he makes or wants to make and is very clear about the genre that he want to stick to..

His interview now will indeed be a treat...

For once & for all Ranveer Singh has slammed all those who said he is nothing without SLB & Deepika padukone, he can only deliver hit films with these two combo. #Simmba is a BONAFIDE BLOCKBUSTER & Ranveer singh single handedly carried the film on his shoulders.

THIS, THIS and THIS!

Was tired of people undermining Veer's success and taking away his contribution to all his hit movies with excuses. So happy for Veer
