His interview now will indeed be a treat...

Even in that Film Companion interview with Anupama he was calling out the hypocisy and elitism of critics who looked down upon every masala movie labelling them as movies only for masses and not for classes. His arguement was his movies connected with the masses and he is providing what they want. Trashing all masala movies and labeling them movies only for masses was his main issue. He actually is really sorted and knows what his target audience wants.

Tbh I actually liked some of his movies so for me a Rohit Shetty movie is better than say a Sajid Khan Farah Khan movie.

I'm guilty of watching Golmaal Again in theatres (did not like it though) because my friends practically dragged me to watch it. 😳

@bold: that's the attitude I abhor...There are people who cannot be bothered to apply their mind and just want to watch something easy and appealing to them, what is wrong in catering to such audiences? I know some people who hate movies like October(which I loved loved LOVED) because for them its like watching the paint dry...😆...
From his movies I watched Singham, Golmaal and CE...and liked all the three...Dilwale and Singham 2 which I left the theater in the middle...

bold: 😆 (just kidding)

For whatever reasons the movie is a success, I like this success for Rohit, Ranveer and those involved. It's a good ending of the (film-)year :)

Yes agreed...never mind those comments though...reason was something else , anyways, couldn't agree more...even in SLB's movies...Ranveer is the one who shined most and carried those movies on his shoulder...👍🏼

This shows KJo really nails his acumen ... his gut hardly ever fails .. be it Bahubali or Simmba! ... He knows what will work and he solely gets credit for that! ... Even I was wondering why would he jump for a masala movie like "Simmba"! .. But he wasn't wrong.
Great work by the team seeing the reviews! ... I may catch it next weekend if schedule permits! ... I was wondering what would happen to BW after "Khans" retire ... but lo behold ... young lads have prove this year that they are here to STAY and capable enough to let BW ride on their shoulders! ... This year has been a revelation fosho! ... Impressed with them ALL!

Ranveer already made a very good impression on me with his first movie (BBB) in 2010...and since then he did not disappoint me in those movies I watched with him (e.g. very believable in Befikre and even outstanding in Zoya Akthar's film).

So, I'm genuinely happy for him getting openly celebrated this year.

Just saw the movie! Unlike others, I loved the second half more than the first! I guess I prefer seriousRanveer to funnyRanveer. There really was not a boring minute in the movie! I was expecting to not see much of Sara based on other reviews, but I thought she was onscreen just enough given the story. Sonu Sood? Hot!

I don't normally like this genre and only went for Ranveer's, but I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

Me too!!!! I absolutely enjoyed the second half more. But not that I didn't like first half. I don't know if it's because I enjoy serious Veer more. I really love the funny and shy and OTT yet endearing Simmba in the first half. But second half showed him more as the massy hero so maybe that's why I liked it. Even then there was no shift in his personality, **spoilers ahead** when he goes to hit that guy in farmhouse with his shoes, to me the mannerisms was still the same to the Simmba from first half. **spoilers end** Btw I'm going second time with my friends next week 🥳 I need another viewing to just drool at my man 😆

#Simmba Crosses $850K mark at USA/Can Box Office!

#RanveerSingh #BoxOffice

I would like to think I helped! 😛

I have to gush about Ranveer's performance during Simmba's transformation. He absolutely killed it! At some points he looked like a hurt, scared little boy as he stared at Akruti and her father. Then he showed his anger without moving or saying a word at the station when those goons showed up for the phone. AMAZING performance!!
