I have grown up watching masala films down South and always been of the opinion that Bollywood just cannot get this genre right. Even with some of the most celebrated masala films in Hindi, I always felt like I could name ten other South Indian actors and directors who could have done it better. And I have actually disliked most of Rohit Shetty's films (including CE). So am shocked that I liked Simba 😆 It's an unabashedly OTT and fun masala film. I have certain issues with the plot but the film as a whole is extremely watchable thanks to the screenplay and the cast. Ranveer is super entertaining throughout the film. Great screen presence and a proper masala hero 😆 Bollywood finally gets one masala movie right. I'd still rate South films higher but this one is super fun in its own right. I liked it a lot more than Temper tbh.
P. S. They played the trailer of Pettai during the interval and it looks total paisa vasool on the big screen. Any Rajini fans here, please watch the film in the theatre next year. It's probably one of his last films and he is the best masala hero if there ever was one (IMO).

ok jaanedo happy for the team simba.. will see this sunday, probably.

rohit gave srk CE which is one of srk's biggest hits, so its not like rohit didn't give srk a successful movie, dilwale may hav under performed but it still made over 100 crs and got the semi hit tag, so it didn't flop

like stated above CE was Srk biggest hit and Dilwale was not Rohit's fault as much as the entire production team including ark who wanted to prove a point and release the movie no matter what.

Srk himself is somewhere clinging to that past image but with zero I'm sure he has gotten that reality check, hoping for better script choices from him.

Simmba has a solid opening at the box-office

Simmba hit the theatres this morning and the audience flocked to the theatres in big numbers to catch this Rohit Shetty entertainer. The morning shows of the film were strong and the night are expected to be houseful. The critics too can't stop raving about the film. Directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Karan Johar, the film is heading for a great first weekend. Everyone coming out of the theatres is mighty impressed with Ranveer's massy charm and Sara's affable personality. The film has all the ingredients to be a superhit, from action scenes, romantic songs to a surprise cameo.

Simmba

According to early predictions, Simbaa will rake in over Rs 20 crores on day one at the box-office and is only expected to go higher because of the long weekend and good word of month. Well, we are glad that the year is ending on a high note for Bollywood at the box-office. Keep watching this space for more updates on the same.
