Political history becomes an interesting topic to make us understand what things went wrong and right in past, to understand society and so on.I mean so many of the things like administration tactics, political tools and also stuffs like medical techniques, water harvesting and so on are because of people learning about history.Yes it has con but it also pros.
If idiots use history to propagate hatred, it is fault of the people and not the history itself.

see looking after ourselves and our family is a very private and basic thing.
But after we achieve that, we need to build society. And to build society, you need to study everything, from science to history to geography to civics to maths to statistics to almost every damn thing in the world.
Not saying everyone needs to study everything but there should be balance, and one person shouldn't mock another person's field of study and interest.
What you are doing here is mocking history because apparently to you its not important, and maybe it is true to you it is not important personally, but to society as a whole it is important.

History is everything! I was one of those foolish people who didn't really like history that much! But over time I realized how important history is...you can see how we repeat mistakes we have made in the past because we haven't learnt...or you can understand why things are the way they are...knowing the past helps you make better decisions about the future as well...
