Was just watching this interview of Kareena and she was asked on naming Taimur and that's what she had to say. She also said Saif read a lot about Taimur (actually Timur) and had a friend named Taimur who he was "fascinated by" as a child...Not sure if anyone's picked on this but this is vastly different from what Saif said.

In a recent interview with the Mumbai Mirror, Khan finally opened up on the fuss surrounding Taimur's name, discussed the baby's adorable habits and how his mother 'Bebo' thinks that their son has taken after his father in many ways.
Clarifying the confusion around the baby's name, Khan said that Taimur had not named after the Turkish invader and ruler.
"I'm aware of the heritage of the Turkish ruler and my son was not named after him," Khan said. "He was Timur, my son is Taimur. Perhaps the root is similar but it's not the same name. Taimur is an ancient Persian name, meaning iron."
