Rohit Shetty said the same after Dilwale that people assume SRK must have imposed his opinions on the script but that it's not true. SRK lets you do whatever you want.

In fact, he *should* meddle because all these guys go crazy when they get big budgets and don't know how to handle it.

SRK obviously did Zero for the VFX work for his company. It's not like there are a dozen VFX-heavy scripts available in India. There is not that much to choose from.

He's using his celebrity status to build his business empire. Acting does not last forever, especially not lead roles. He's making a plan for the next 30 years. His son doesn't want to act either so obviously he is going to work to leave a robust business for his kids.

All the Khans are 53 years old. All have had big flops. Even if they sustain, it's a short term thing now. You have to have plans in place for later.

Directors even refuse to acknowledge that they had offered a role to some other actress before the current one coz the current one will get angry... and here it's a Khan. If he doesn't interfere what was that 50 star cameo then which is a signature SRK strategy? And the lack of small town setting... every room is like a ballroom is SRK's (And Kjo's) signature. These are the visible ones you'd never know how much of non-obvious ones are there.

Purani aadat gayi nahin lagta hai. Don't forget Dhrama/YRF used to officially give credits for his inputs... and you're saying he would not interfere in a movie producer by him directed by slightly starstruck smallfries. Even chindis like Hrithik ask the daddy to ghost direct his movies midway.
