well well..no one takes karan johar seriously as a director anymore..this is not early 2000s
lots of actors would seriously consider other directors..case being ranbir who was amused when anushka kept going on and on about alizeh..saying it is just one of those movies you don't have much to prep and just chill and enjoy

karan lacks the depth..and it shows in his movies..and he is totally incapable of this historic magnum opus..he is no SLB..

so i think kajol is much better off without it all

and as all said..casting is so blah..bhumi..seriously..what a downgrade..

Dharma doesnt have that problem.

Yes, I think within the industry Aditya Chopra & YRF have a lot more respect than KJo and Dharma. YRF is older and has had it's reputation much longer. Dharma may be "more successful" at the moment, but YRF's name is overall bigger. They're...exclusive. Doing a YRF film, a big one, is still considered a sign of having made it in BW. Somehow their films still have this perception of having worked for it and earned it unlike Dharma films, which because of the nepotism debate perhaps, simply don't. It seems more like candy given out. YRF has a lot of other problems in the sense that they haven't kept up with the times, but they've maintained this exclusivity. ...and they make so much money off of their studios that the films don't matter as much. Their small films have bombed badly, but that also has to do with the fact they really suck at promoting.

I wouldn't say YRF proteges are doing badly per se -- yes perhaps in comparison to Dharma proteges. Are Ranveer and Anushka really doing that badly? Arjun has some 5 movies coming up and yes he may not be as famous as Ranbir/Varun, but he's fine where he is as a middle rung star. He's certainly better off than Sid. It's only their actresses like Parineeti and Vaani that are struggling and even someone like Parineeti managing to get films outside of YRF and without Aditya's recommendation despite a 2-3 year hiatus is saying something.

I disagree. Dharma has surpassed YRF by miles now. Not only is Karan visible in the media, he has created a brand for himself and his production house. The way he has singlehandedly taken his father's company to heights is commendable.

YRF on the other hand are only floating with the once in a blue moon Aamir/Salman movies. IMO Befikre has damaged Aditya Chopra's brand badly. And supposedly he is making a historic movie as his next too. Dharma's upcoming movies include Simmba, Kesri, Kalank, Bharmastra, Student of the Year etc while YRFs has nothing lined up after Sui Dhaga and Thugs of Hindostan.

I'm actually impressed with the cast. Especially Vicky and Bhumi. Unsure about Jhanvi but everyone else is a decent actor. Kajol and Srk would be just too reminiscent of Rahul/Anjali and make expectations sky high.

I'm sure YRF also has a line-up of some sort. They just don't promote and announce things two years ahead of time. Karan is already putting out full pages ads in all newspapers to announce his movie.

YRF also produces their own movies. Karan's movies are almost all co-productions and financed by others. He's able to have the big brand without actually putting in much money but because of that, he makes a lot less money too. YRF tends to be quieter while Karan comes with his own band baaja.

There were rumors for a long time about a two hero film with the names being SRK and Ranbir. I think both declined. So did Kajol.

This cast looks quite B-grade in comparison. Look at the cast of K3G and look at this.. 😆

Pretty sure he must've offered her films since he thinks sooo highly of her talent & is fast bffs with her. Idk hoe much to buy into their pics, full of kissing faces & posing. That everyone does on SM, so Idk if they're close/as close as they used to be. Kajol is highly selective of the work she does & generally prefers to work with people she likes/is comfortable with. Maybe she just didn't like the scripts offered by KJo, same goes for SRK. Kajol has never been particularly ambitious anyway! And is very open about the same. She just does what she likes to & is content doing that. She looks amazing & is as talented as she always has been, so it would be nice to see her in a mature love story.

LMAO @ Dharma bigger than YRF. Dharma doesn't even have a 200 crore grosser yet. The closest they've come is YJHD. So many flops. Alia is single handedly carrying that sorry production house. Just prancing around at award functions doesn't make you a top producer.
YRF hasn't had much luck with their small films either but their big films are really BIG. Possibly the only studio in Bollywood that has the finances to even make those with the Khans and they have a massive lineup.
Thugs of Hindustan
Hrithik- Tiger project
Ranbir Kapoors Shamshera
Sui Dhaaga

Other smaller projects with Arjun Kapoor, Parineeti etc.
