Agreed. I actually wish it works for other 40+ actresses too. Even if out of compulsion, if they get good and exciting work, it's a great change. On that note, how come Varun is never part of these KJo directorials? I always knew he is smarter than Ranbir and Ranveer in this sense (and definitely Alia) 😆

KJo has been quite vocal for sometime about the need of "Event" films right now.. People are getting good entertainment right at their fingertips in the form of Netflix/web series/short films, so event films are required to bring audience to the theatres.. and with the success of Bahubali franchise he is even more certain about these kind of films, that's y all these multistarrers..
As much as I like the star cast, I wish it wasn't a historical.. something contemporary.. more on the lines of Bangalore Days maybe..
And I am surprised KJo has taken up historical genre, given that whatever happened with Padmavati.. he is such a fattu to handle any controversy which might happen with the kind of subject.. When SLB who is a master in such films can ruin history, then KJo se toh I have no expectation to present history as it is.. Don't know why these people touch such subjects when they cant present them as it is.. :\ I hope its a work of fiction..

Maybe he wants to try different genre...challenge himself. I f I read correctly..this is a very massive film and he is getting assistance. he wouldnt dare not to...i think he wouldnt be able to handle it.

Deepika is stuck because it's gone to her head that she pulled off a title role and made 300 crores and now can't settle for anything smaller. Anushka is free actually. She doesn't have anything lined up. Zero and Sui Dhaaga are finished filming.

I think PC shot herself in the foot by walking out of Bharat at the last minute for whatever reason. BW will believe she's not interested in working with them even if she is. Yes, but Anushka's last few films bombed and she's in the news more for her relationship currently. I'm sure things will look up for her soon enough. So if Kareena is getting more offers it's because of VDW.

Sonam actually has the looks for a historical. But my point was more along the lines of -- she doesn't really suit every role. A full blown commercial film is not her cup of tea.

Roger, Varun is doing both Kalank and Ranbhoomi which will come 1 year apart. Why would he do this as well especially with Ranveer Singh? 3 similar films in 1 year? It would be completely overkill. Ranveer wants to typecast himself...that's another story. Even Ranbir saying no this is not surprising. He's doing the solo hero Shamshera instead. Kjo's strength is urban stories not something like this so why even bother with a 2 hero film.

BTW, I don't think much of that Kareena-Akki film. Kareena-Dharma's jodi has only made disasters and no one really cared for that film's announcement even. It sounds kinda boring.

^Karan loves Kareena. She was his Alia before Alia. It's just that their collaborations always flopped badly. VDW has given him confidence that Kareena can get a hit so he's back trying again with her.

Good News looks awful. Reminds me of all of Kareena's previous Dharma disasters.

Honestly, Kareena has almost never had good luck with big movies and big production houses. It's always the small movies with small names that work out for her, whether it's Jab We Met or Veere Di Wedding.

As for Kareena, a lot of things came together for VDW, the biggest being the first commercial film of female friendship. It wasn't really just her I would say, but I'm glad it is getting her more films. But her Dharma films aren't even remotely exciting. KJo has tried very hard with Kareena to make something work, but it's always backfired on both 😕
