I don't know about others but me and a bunch of people I know only watched it because people kept telling us to watch it for Ranbir, how he's nailed the look and mannerisms of Sanjay Dutt even if the film is nothing special. Ironically, first time I've also heard people criticize Paresh Rawal. 😆

So yeah, watched it for Ranbir. Not Hirani this time. But still 75% is Hirani, 20% is Ranbir and 5% is the whitewashed account of Dutt's life.

There is no main reason for Sanju crossing 300 Crores.

Hirani, Ranbir and Sanjay Dutt have almost equal contribution in the success of the movie, and the movie would've not done 300 Crores without each other. If people think that it's all Hirani's magic then they are in delusion. Without Ranbir's superb acting, the movie would've never got such an extraordinary WOM. Also if the movie had not been Sanjay Dutt's biopic, it would've came across as an average and disjointed story.

There are many factors which worked together to help the movie cross 300 Crores.

Before teaser , 90% hirani and 10% Sanjay
After teaser realease , 50% HirRni, 10% Sanjay, 40% Ranbir
After trailer and harr harr mahadev 40% hirani, 50% Ranbir, 10% Sanjay
After movie release 10% hirani , 5% Sanjay, 85% Ranbir
And from there onwards major shift to 100% Ranbir
Even Bhai fans coming out of theatres with:
Ranbir is baaap of salman bhai

LUNA darling... u NEED to admit that Hirani's brand and track record is the MAIN reason..

I love ranbir's acting talent, he was AWESOME as a performer even in BIGGEST FLOPS of him, why those films did not performed despite him being great in all of them just like sanju??? why only his acting worked for bo in sanju? simple logic, main reason was Hirani followed by curiosty for a movie on Sunjay dutt's life... Ranbir's acting is nothing much of a factor here...

sure he ha been appreciated but ONLY when people were interested to watch this flick for Hirani's sake and sunjay dutt...

Just think if this film was on some fictional character and was directed by some failed director...do u think people would have flocked to theatre to watch ranbir's performance, even if it would have been better then sanju...

ask yourself... the answer would be NO. even if u dont admit it.

ps: Great fan of Ranbir's acting, but cannot deny the facts.
